Promises (Ninjago's Kai x Reader)

Episode 18 - Dark Energy

"Finally, my darkest dream will now become reality!" Father yells.

"Father, don't!" Lloyd screams.

He pauses, looking up from the control panel with wide eyes. "Lloyd!"

"What are you doing!" says a raspy voice. A purple mass floats above Dad's head, pulsating as it speaks. It's the Overlord.

"So, the balance has sent my son, my daughter, my brother, and my wife to try to stop me?" Father taunts. "It looks like my little surprise has kept the ninja busy."

"Don't do it!" Mom says. "If you alter the balance, it will allow the Overlord to cross over."

"The balance will be destroyed, and we will all pay dearly!" Uncle adds.

"Don't listen to them. They betrayed you," The Overlord hisses in Father's ear.

"I don't want to fight you but I will if I have to," Lloyd says. "This is about more than just us. This is about what is right."

"Don't you see?" Father yells. "I will never do what's right. The evil in my blood will never go away! It has corrupted every ounce of my fiber, every bone in my body! I am Lord Garmadon!"

"But you can fight it! Dad, I am proof that you can be good," I argue. "With enough will power, you can change your destiny--"

"Destiny took my family from me," he snaps, cutting me off, "and the only way for us to be together is to turn everything in this world into my image. Then you'll all see what I see, feel what I feel!"

"But, Dad! If you just listen to me! It's not too late!"

"You made your decision, Tasha, and I have made mine."

He turns his back to us and pushes the button.

"Garmatron warming up. In T-minus 20..."

"Warming up? You could've warned me it had to warm up!" Father fumes, wheeling around to face the Overlord.

"How could I? You were monologuing," he retorts.

"...16..."

"We have to get to the top and shut it off!" Lloyd says.

"Stop them!" Dad commands.

The stone warriors let out a unanimous war cry and charge towards us. One of the warriors fires a cannon at Lloyd, but Mom jumps infront, deflecting the shots with her scroll case.

"Go!"

I pull out my bow and send arrow after arrow at the stone warriors. Seeing as this does little to harm them, I reach deep into my being and pull the dark energy to my finger tips. I force this energy onto each arrow that I fire and each super charged arrow destroys the stone Warrior it hits. A grin springs to my face as the Stone warriors begin to fall back.

A loud boom stops my assault. A cannon has been fired. Dark matter has been sent to Ninjago.

"No!"

"We're loosing!"

"I win!"

A sharp pain erupts in my chest and I let out a yelp, dropping down to one knee.

"Again!" The Overlord commands.

"Again!"

"The Balance is shifting!" Mom cries.

"Lloyd, you must focus and put a stop to this!" Uncle yells.

Lloyd stands up, shutting his eyes and summoning a bright green ball of energy to his hands, but before he can use it, our father pulls a lever, dropping him out the bottom of the ship. Another missile is launched, another sharp pain in my chest.
