Misses Gruber. Mrs Scarlett Gruber.

I still can't believe that a normal day at work at Nakatomi Plaza, 10 years ago, resulted in me meeting my husband.

We were now living in Berlin, Germany.

Despite the shady things we do, Hans, Karl, Theo, Fritz, and I were still alive.

Hans and I built our way up after the robbery of Nakatomi. We built a mob from scratch and we now had men all over Germany that basically bowed to us. We built a name for ourselves and nobody could touch Hans or I.

It was now 1998.

I was laying in bed on Hans's chest as he read a book. The window was open and the cool night air was coming in. He stroked my black hair with one hand as he flipped pages with another.

We could hear the faint sound of Karl and Theo arguing on the floor under us.

"I shot the guard!" Theo's yells muffle between the floors. "No, you big-brained idiot. I shot the guard then you hopped the counter and locked everyone in." Karl yells back at Theo. "Well I want to be the badass for once," Theo yells back and Hans and I laugh.

"Idiots. Those two." He says as he sets the book down and continues to laugh. "Yes but they're our idiot friends so we can't say anything," I say as I laugh as well.

The yelling stops for about two minutes before our door swings open.

"Hans, will you tell this man. I shot the guard at Nakatomi," Theo says as the two come in.

"You two realize that that was ten years ago and I came in the truck?" Hans says.

"Theo, I hate to tell you this bud but... Karl's has more of a. How do I put this......" I say, contemplating how to word it.

"Bang bang vibe," I say as I hold up finger guns. "I told you," Karl says to Theo. "Well, I want to be a badass for once," Theo says. "I don't know what to tell you. Do you want to go rob a bank or a bar or something?" I ask.

"I would love that," Theo says as he huffs off.

"Bang bang vibe?" Karl asks as he leaves. "I had to think of something," I say as he laughs and closes the door.

"I love you," Hans says as he laughs and pulls me closer into his chest.

"I love you," I say as I laugh with him.

At this moment, I was happy. I felt complete, safe, and happy.

All because on that fateful night in 1988, I didn't Die Hard......
