The relaxing sound of the fireplace filled the room that night, occasionally accompanied by the soft sound of the pages passing. The cookie moved their gaze to the clock for a moment, a small frown on their face.
“They should have come back by now…” they thought, worrying for a small second. But they quickly shocked their head, their gaze back to the book.
“No… they are okay, probably got caught with something” (Y/N) thought, eyes scanning the pages once more. Though their mind didn’t really process what they were reading anymore, the late hours finally catching them.
It was true that it was way past their usual sleeping hour, but they had always waited for Roguefort to come back on a heist night, and they weren’t about to stop it just because they were sleepy.
But between the warm of the fireplace and the warm their fluffy blanket provided… the cookie found themselves falling asleep shortly after.
(Y/N) was woken up by a familiar hand moving their hair gently, a smile forming on their face at the moment.
“You are late tonight…” the cookie said sleepily as they opened their eyes, soon meeting the familiar blue ones. The other let out a small chuckle, grabbing the now closed book from their lap.
“I’m sorry my jewel, the little detective was a bit persistent tonight, and I had to lose her” Roguefort said with a soft voice as they left the book on its place, going back at their side at the moment.
The cookie hummed softly as they sat down, patting the side so the phantom thief sat down at their side. Roguefort let out a small chuckle at the, in their eyes, cute gesture and was soon sitting at their side, blanket over the two of them.
The other cookie sighed happily as they relaxed against their side, smiling as a hand on their shoulder brought them closer.
“I’d love to hear about your small adventure… but I can’t promise I won’t fall asleep at some point” (Y/N) said with a soft voice, earning a soft chuckle from them.
“Is okay my dear, you rest for now. I’ll tell you everything tomorrow” Roguefort said with a soft voice, gently kissing the top of their head as they pulled (Y/N) a bit closer.
The cookie was soon sleeping again, and Roguefort couldn’t help but smile at how cute they looked.
They might have gotten a precious jewel that night, but their most precious jewel was and would always be them.
