Batter/Ganji Gupta x Reader

Self-indulgent fluff because I'm soft

"Did you hear about the new survivor, N/n?" William plopped next to you. You were waiting for a match with William, Tracy and the newest addition to the manor.

"Yes William, it's totally not like they are going to be in this match or anything." You jokingly rolled your eyes and lightly punched his arm causing the forward to laugh. Tracy giggled at your silly antics and made some small adjustments to her robot. The three of you were inseparable and every match with you all usually resulted in either wins and laughing. You and Tracy were more shy and quiet so William took the initiative and befriended you both. Your trio's silly antics were cut short when the door opened. Tracy and you immediately tensed up and sat straight in hopes that the new survivor wouldn't judge you both while William turned and smiled at him.

"....did I interrupt something....?" Ganji asked as he sat down.

"Of course not! You're the new survivor right? I'm William!" The energetic rescuer said with a smile.

The other male looked down and muttered "I'm Ganji Gupta..."

You could tell he didn't talk much which immediately set you off. 'What if he thought you were annoying or useless? What if he thought you were burden? What if you accidentally failed a kite and he hated you?'. A bunch of what if's filled your head and when you glanced at Tracy on your right you could tell she was just as panicked as you. William could sense the discomfort raiding off of both of you and gave you both a worried look. Since you were closer to him, he wrapped his arm around you and rubbed your arm in an attempt to comfort you.

"This is Y/n the (career) and Tracy the mechanic! They are both really good at what they do so you have nothing to worry about!" William beamed, both reassuring Ganji if he happened to have any doubts but mostly to reassure both of you that you weren't 'bad'. Ganji nodded and looked at both of you, a bit of concern was present on his face. Before you knew it the match started and cold air immediately hit your face. A match in Leo's memory was always fun, especially when you weren't prepared to stay in the snow. You were near the factory and immediately went to the cipher right outside and started decoding, trying to calm your nerves as well as you could. While taking deep breaths you missed a calibration, waves of shock went over you and you stood there stunned for a few seconds before you heard your heart start beating. You immediately wiped your head over and saw the tall figure of the ripper coming to you. You immediately ran into the factory in a panic, mumbling to yourself to not be an embarrassment. You hear Jack's humming from a distance and immediately ran out the opening on the side of the factory. After a few seconds of looping the ripper he finally hit you with his foggy blade causing your heart to race. Even though William was being supportive and telling you to keep it up it only made you panic more. After kiting for 120 seconds you were finally downed, you whimpered feeling your face flush from embarrassment and shame.

Jack let out a deep chuckle and picked you up bridal style "My you put up quite a fight, my fair lady."

He roughly slammed you onto the chair and chuckled again before teleporting away. You didn't even struggle against the harsh ropes, all you wanted to do was disappear, you couldn't even kite for all five ciphers and your throat was burning from the cold. Before you could wallow in your own self-pity you felt hands undoing the ropes of your chair, causing you to look up. The batter was next to you, no clear expression on his face. You wanted to dig a ditch and die so bad at that moment. Thanks to the adrenaline from running away you didn't pay much attention to how you felt but now that you weren't being chased you felt terrible. Your throat burned more than a couple moment ago, your legs were shaking, you couldn't feel your hands and you wanted to cough and sneeze like crazy. You didnt want to bother Ganji so you decided to act like you were completely fine. The tide affect was still ongoing so Ganji couldn't heal you which left him awkwardly decoding with you until he could heal you. While you were unaware, Ganji could tell you were tense so he decided to reassure you. He wouldn't say it outloud but he was amazed at how long you were able to hold off the hunter.
