Camila's POV

The rest of that morning and early afternoon were taken over by Samantha and Scarlet asking questions about the more sordid details of what had happened between Lauren and me the night before.

—"For the love of God, it even seems that you don't know nothing. You all do the same thing every day."—I spoke a little annoyed.

—"But no client has stayed in my bed until the next day..."—Samantha replied.

—"Especially a client like Lauren."—Scarlet completed.

-"She must had been tired."—I said.

-"How so, Mila? A client doesn't sleep in a whore's bed unless they're quite comfortable."

—"Scarlet, if she was comfortable or not, I don't know. But surely it wasn't the first time that she had done it."

-"Well...—Samantha began said—At least she hasn't never done it here. With none of us."

I was suddenly in a good mood, which I tried not to relate to this new revelation, knowing now that I was, in a way, on a different level from the other girls here.

Even though, I felt delighted by this, I tried to change the subject. I needed to be alone.

-"Well, I'm going for a walk. It's Saturday, no work. I'm going to take advantage of the landscape."

-"But it's still raining."—Samantha replied.

-"Good. Less people on the street to look at me."—I said.

At five in the afternoon I was leaving The Hills with my bag on my shoulder, wearing a red hoodie, jeans and my old all-stars shoes.

I didn't have an umbrella, but I didn't need it. The small raindrops didn't bother me.

But then I noticed that the clouds were getting darker and thunders were becoming more and more frequent, so I ran to avoid taking the deluge that I knew it was coming.

I pull the hood up to cover my head and walked to the bus stop. I wanted to go to the park on the other side of the neighborhood, to breathe fresh air.

Once I got there, I ran to one of the many round wooden tables covered with a red umbrella. It was a quiet place and it was obviously empty. From what I could see of the streets and houses surrounding the area,
I could tell that it was a wealthy neighborhood.

I took my book, a dictionary, and a pen from the bag, placing everything on the table and sitting on one of the four wooden benches.

Thanks to Lauren, I had to look for a while for the page where my reading had stopped. Smelling the smell and hearing the noise of the rain, I managed to relax. I don't know how long I stayed there. Everything seemed so calm and easy. The place was beautiful, the grass trimmed, bright green. The drops now, thicker and in greater quantity, fell heavily on the surface of the huge lake that was in the middle of the park. That atmosphere rubbed off on me, and at that moment, this place was the best place in the world to be.
