Marinette watched as her son stared out the window, growing bored. It was snowing too hard to go out and play.

"Would you like to hear a story?" Marinette asked her son.

"You already read me the 'Night Before Christmas'." he groaned.

"Oh, but this isn't a story from a book." she said, taking a seat in front of the fireplace, "It's a legend."

"A legend?" he asked, peering over at his mother.

"Yep." she smiled, "About these mountains."

He hurried over and sat by her feet, waiting to hear more.

As the legend goes, there are Snow Woman living on these mountains, where humans can never cross. Mari began.

"Snow Women?" he questioned, "Like Frosty the Snowman?"

No. Marinette spoke, These women were demons who looked human.

Her son's eyes went wide and he gasped.

They controlled the ice and the snow. They controlled the wind. she continued.

"What did they look like?" he asked.

They look liked any other girl, but their hair was as white as the snow and they had bright blue eyes. They protect these mountains; they were its guardians. If they noticed someone killing the trees or hunting its animals, that person would never make it home.

"What if the person was good?" her son asked.

Then, they would protect them. Marinette explained, This is about a little girl who lived among the Snow Women. She was smaller then the rest of them and was the youngest. They gave her a tiny side of the mountain to guard. They didn't think any reason to worry. No one went to that side of the mountain....or so they thought. A family had made a large cabin at the base of the mountain. One day, the youngest son decided to play in the snow, but she quickly lost sigh of him. The little girl was curious and climbed down the mountain to look for him, as the snow began to pick up into a flurry.

"Like outside?" he asked.

Yes. she frowned looking out the window, She found him buried in the snow. She didn't understand why he wouldn't survive so she made him a tiny igloo to cover him. She used her powers to make the snow fall slowly around them. Some animals brought her firewood and she quickly used it, in hopes that he would warm up. She sat with her back against the igloo, keeping it cool all night long. As the dawn broke, he stirred, but he caught a glimpse of her as she left. He raced out of the igloo, but she was gone.

"Spooky." her son whispered.

His family found him and hugged him tight. she said, as she brought her son into a hug, He told them about the mysterious girl, but they told him that it was a dream and brought him back to the cabin at the base of the mountain.

Several years passed and the boy had become a teen. The family took him back to the mountain and the girl was now older, as well. She saw the boy searching the woods, calling out for the snow lady. She saw that he had grown and decided to get a closer look at him. No one was suppose to see her or know about Snow Woman. As her way down the mountain, she lost sight of him. He snuck up behind her and tapped her on the shoulder and asked if she had saved him years ago. She nodded and he thanked her. He wanted her to come with him and meet his family. She told him she couldn't. She wasn't allowed to leave the mountain and she was needed there. He quickly realized that she wasn't dressed for the snow and would freeze. He took off his jacket, but she refused.
