Jayce and Viktor have plans to go out to dinner together. Viktor isn't one for special, romantic dates, but for Jayce, he's willing to try. However, their plans are thrown off course when Viktor wakes up sick on Valentine's Day, and it's clear that a day of lounging and cuddling in bed is in order.

When you're sent a letter telling you that you've been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, it's no secret that you'll be dealing with all sorts of magic - hell, it's in the name. Jayce and Viktor are no strangers to strange occurrences and extraordinary happenings. But when the two sixth-year students get wrapped up in their professor's research of and experimentation with the Hexcore, it's clear that they're in far over their heads.

Viktor Čapek has never met Jayce Talis in his life. Sure, they have a few classes together, but they've exchanged nothing more than mindless glances. Viktor is too focused on his studies to even think about trying to make new friends. Jayce, though also preoccupied with his studies, already has a group of friends that are near and dear to him. So, when Viktor has a dream concerning Jayce, he chalks it up to being sleep-deprived. Perhaps he's just been staying up too late studying. But then, the dreams continue, becoming more vivid each time. Sometimes, he's having a conversation with Jayce; sometimes, they're working together on strange-looking experiments in a dimly lit lab. It's not long before these dreams begin to feel more like memories. Jayce, meanwhile, finds himself daydreaming about Viktor in the middle of class. That, in itself, wasn't unusual - he had a bad habit of zoning out when he got bored - but every one of these daydreams was centered around Viktor. Often he sees himself hunched over a lab table next to Viktor, working alongside the man in comfortable silence. Other times, he swears he can hear snippets of a conversation held between him and Viktor. Every time, he feels a deep sense of déjà vu, like these events have somehow already happened to him. It's clear that having normal college lives at Piltover University simply isn't in the cards for these two. The universe has no plans to sit back and let them avoid one another - at least, not for long.

After the destruction of the wild rune, Jayce and Viktor wake up in the council chamber, astonished to find themselves alive. The real surprise, however, is Viktor-fully healed and with no sign of his former struggles. But their brief joy quickly crumbles when they meet with Piltover's leaders-and Viktor is arrested. For Jayce, it feels as though his world has fallen apart. Just when he thought he'd regained his closest friend, he's at risk of losing him again. Determined to prevent this, Jayce vows to do everything in his power to help Viktor win his trial. But as the trial unfolds, their bond will be tested again. In the midst of the chaos, deeper feelings begin to surface, leaving them questioning if their connection has grown into something far greater than friendship. _________________________________________ This JayVik fanfiction picks up where Arcane ends, filling in the gaps left by the canon with my own take on what comes next.
