On the outside, Alorah is a simple, diligent, and caring 17-year-old girl who only sees the good in people. Yet, behind all that is someone who has worries of her own. A strong worry that keeps her heart racing every time she lies in bed at night, ready to fall asleep, and has slowly manifested into her daily life. After her first encounter with Julian in the classroom, how will Alorah, a person who isn't fond of chaos and likes to keep her inner worries to herself, handle a person like Julian, a well-known guy for having a "bad boy persona"? AN AMBYS 2024 FAVORITE (POETRY) These my offerings, tiny and fragile, they must take root in stubborn soil. Fertilize them. Give them shape. Twisted they may grow, but their trunks must be strong. They must reach through the night. They must be of their ground... Note: this is as much an art portfolio as it is an anthology of my poetry. Every poem is illustrated. There is a regular section, and then a second section consisting of Instagram poetry posts that effectively make a "graphic novel" second edition of the first half of the book. Some of these poems were published in a chapbook, Eleusinian Mysteries, in 1995, under the pen name Sarah Maddox. Other publications that accepted my poetry include The Mill, Isis Magazine (the literary magazine for students at the University of Oxford), Tournaments Illuminated, and the late, great Shadowdance zine. Writing poetry has always been for me a way to get rid of my emotions on the topic at hand. Sometimes positive emotions come out and other times negative. A lot of these are poems that helped me deal with my leaving a toxic relationship. I hope through my poetry someone can relate to what my thoughts were when writing.

| 𝗔𝗺𝗯𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 • 𝟳𝘅 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 | During a revolution to dethrone the corrupt nobility, a street-thief gets taken in by the very people he swore to fight. * * * The Capital tore away everything M'yu had: his family, his town's freedom, and any chance for him to live an honest life. While fat bureaucrats sit in their gleaming city, his people starve and die. Bent on leveling the playing field, he lures a group of Capital Knights to his side of town, ready to steal a tool that could burn their entire society to the ground. But when he saves a Capital girl's life instead, the Knight that M'yu stole from will open a door into the glittering world of courtiers. It's a deal too good for a revolutionary like him to refuse. It won't take long for him to find out, though, that when you start a fire, it doesn't burn just one house to the ground. It burns everything. * * * 𝟮𝘅 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗺𝗯𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱: @ScienceFiction, @magic, @dystopianapocalypse, @WattpadDarkFantasy, @WattpadUrbanFantasy, and more
