7 short stories linked by an article of clothing and a moment in time. Call them panties, underwear, undergarments... whatever you call them, they are made of the finest silk in the most beautiful shades of cobalt blue, burnt orange, fuschia, black, silver, emerald green, and purple. Here is a story of lost and found that will have you thinking about your own life - in colour.
Carola had finally moved into her own condo after living from boxes stashed at friends and families homes for the last two years. As Carola unpacked she experienced a kind of wistfulness for past relationships, past homes, past versions of herself. One box that had been in her son's basement since she moved back to Toronto from Sweden -- had scarves, t-shirts and right at the bottom of the box wrapped carefully in tissue paper was a treasure she had allowed herself when she hoped a casual friendship was going to become something more. Seven pairs of silk underwear, each one is a different colour; crimson, cobalt, orange, fuschia, black, cream, and Saphire red -- still as beautiful as the day she had splurged and purchased them. That she hadn't worn even a single pair was not lost on her but today she was unpacking her life and this was surely a new beginning.
In the next chapter, you will read about Sheldon and Cobalt Blue
