On the day of the outbreak, eleven year old Phil becomes infected. well, that's what everyone grows to believe. Skip five years and he's still alive somehow. He discovers that he is one of the very few people left in the world that is immune to the sickness and therefore cannot die from it no matter how many times he is bitten. Well, save for the amount of blood he'd loose from the wounds. Since both his parents were killed, he has lived with his caretaker for these past five years but is sent away with some friends of hers so she could handle business in the medical unit in another state. Travel isn't easy when the soldiers know about your condition and want to dissect your brain for experimenting.
