Everything changed when they came out of hiding, terror spread across the world as people began to question if our presidents and our global leaders lied to us and weren't from the same race. The Beasts blended in amongst us as if we were the same, except humans didn't have the same predatory instincts and we couldn't change our forms like they could. This is a story about Jaylynn, a 16-year-old human girl living in a world full of discrimination and expectations. Where humans are second class and are to be kept away unless of course, you carry a certain trait that appeals to Werewolves. Then if you are, you are flung into Werewolf society. Jaylynn never wanted to have anything to do with VIS. But fate is a cruel unfeeling cow, and Werewolves don't take no for an answer.

Werewolves and vampires have taken over the world we once thought was our's, now they haven't just messed up the human community, they are now taking unwilling humans as mates. Something that doesn't sit well with the Barden family after Emilee's, and Natalie's mom is taken. Now fearing for their lives they hide and plan to run away to mysterious hidden human colonies. "The girl is mine" he all but growled, motioning with a tilt of his head towards me. In that moment I knew exactly who he was and what he was talking about. I paled at the realization as my throat went dry and my heart slammed against my chest repeatedly. "Oh my god" I whispered, covering my mouth as I backed away from the two guys in front of me. I was his tether. "The hell she is" Fevah fired back, still not getting it. He was ignored by the stranger as I seemed to have claimed his full attention. He smiled sweetly at me, taking small steps towards me, trying not to frighten me. "It's alright sweetheart, I could never hurt you" he called, his voice soft and melodious. I froze, fear freezing me in my spot as the wind seemed to suddenly pick up and toss my light brown hair in my face. Tears sprang up to my eyes. I didn't want this. I didn't want him. This was the one thing I would never want. My parents would disown me if they found out. I would get kicked out and be left for dead. I can't let them find out; I'll just have to find a way to get rid of him. I knew that wasn't going to be easy. "You've got to be shitting me" Fevah suddenly said, his eyes going from the stranger then back to me. Realization had finally hit him. I was a freaking monsters...or what ever he was, tether. He swallowed loudly before scratching the back of his neck uncomfortably. "She's my tether" the stranger said offhandedly, his voice soft as he eyed me approvingly.

For fifteen years now Werewolves have been known to man, well they've literally taken over. You could say the humans didn't take their existence very well. After 'The War' towns, cities and districts have been divided into territories that would house a pack lead by an Alpha. A person with power who should be obeyed by humans and Weres alike. Yes, they let the humans live, they say it's because they just wanted to live in peace. However, the humans have another idea, they only let them live because there's a chance that one of them could be a Werewolves mate. A mate is a soul mate; someone very important, the one peron who is believed to be perferct for another. Someone a Werewolf is possessive and protective of. Some human's have become accustomed to the idea of Werewolves and being a mate, some even hope for a Were to notice them.
