Highschool is a living hell. At least that's Gerard's opinion because he can't pass the hallways without being shoved against lockers or called a "fag". God, how Gerard hated this word. In his last year of school, he decides to take a risk and starts a school project in which he wants to find out why all of his teachers and classmates hate homosexual people so much. For his project "homophobia is gay" he interviews a few people but decides that this won't be enough. What if he could introduce one of them to his world and show them that it's not bad to be gay? And what if this person was Frank Iero, the guy who has a list of girls he slept with right under his mattress at home, and an abhorrence against the red-headed boy? *Warnings*: bad language, homophobia, smut, abuse

Frank is just an ordinary person, with an ordinary job, when one day everything changes. Gerard Way is the school's Norman Bates. He's freaky, he acts like he's constantly anticipating something, and he does taxidermy. People fear him, and quite honestly, he gets off on it. There are so many bad rumors circulating about him that even he isn't sure which ones are true. Meanwhile, Frank Iero has a reputation for himself. He's an idiot. A comedic one, especially with his friend James, but an idiot. He once came to school high off his ass and passed his math exam with flying colors. It was a dumb move, but an entertaining one. And they were roommates! Oh my god, they were roommates. Frank has been in love with Gerard for years, but Gerard's never noticed. Instead Gerard tries setting up his roommate with dates, unaware that Frank wants no one but him. He settles with the fact that Gerard will never love him back, so he sets out to forget him. Everyone knows that Frank's in love except for Gerard, but he certainly does notice it when Frank falls for someone else. Story originally written in 2014, and I haven't read or edited it since, so it may not be that good.

~BEING REWRITTEN: EDITED UP TO CHAPTER 9~ The boy hadn't even seen Gerard coming towards him until Gerard stepped on a fallen branch, making a 'crunch' sound. Gerard screamed a silent 'fuck' in his head as the boy's tear streaked face snapped up, locking eyes with Gerard's. His intense hazel eyes held so many emotions it was hard for Gerard to distinguish whether the boy was doing this out of anger or sadness, "Go away," the words were laced with venom but they also shook with emotion so strong that Gerard wanted to cry as well.

"Avevo la certezza che un giorno sarebbe successo qualcosa che avrebbe riscattato tutto il mio dolore, che mi avrebbe finalmente reso felice e libero dalle mie sofferenze. Ho sempre sperato che accadesse e non ho mai mollato nemmeno nei momenti più difficili, mai. [...] Ma non vi ho ancora raccontato nulla di me, allora cominciamo con le presentazioni, sono Gerard Way, e sono cieco dalla nascita."

It's the lake in November, and the move closer to the ocean, and Gerard's fixation, and Gerard's compulsions like tidal waves dragging him down, and Mikey's more distant than ever: like they're drifting out into the middle of the ocean, whereas Gerard's just stuck there: water turning to quicksand around him, drowning. And it's the letter; Frank finds it on the floor of the boys' bathroom on the first floor. It's dropped in accident, perhaps from a pocket or something, and it's drenched in what Frank hopes is tap water, and the words: scrawled in blue ink are difficult to make out as the words join together in a fuzzy inky mess. The only paragraph legible is the final one, and even still, it barely is: 'I've been underwater for a long time now, but I'm not drowning, I'm beginning to think I can breathe like this, but I can't, I'm gasping for breath, and I have to do this, Mikey, I have to end this myself. I'm going to the lake on the 1st of November, don't wait for me... I'm not coming back.' And the name signed at the bottom is little more than a smudged mess of blue ink, and there's nothing Frank can do about it, but he knows for certain that the one thing he can't do is ignore this letter, and he reminds himself of that as he folds it into his pocket. It's a suicide note, Frank's stupid, but not stupid enough to brush over that fact, and whoever this person is, Frank knows that they most certainly don't deserve to die. And Frank isn't going to let them. Because he's going to find this person; he's got time now at least, and he can save them, he will save them - Frank promises himself that. But one person in a whole school, it's like a needle in a haystack, but he's got time, it's November 1st in thirty days, and he can only hope that it will be enough. He's got one month: the date is October 1st.
