Pride and Prejudice School
theshitpoet
Modern Day adaptation of Pride and Prejudice in a school setting in Nepal. The story is narrated by an eighth-grader, Aakriti, who regales the exploits of her and her two best friends and their messy love affairs, all the while counselled and at times coerced by a tenth-grade lesbian couple who are self-proclaimed parental figures to the protagonists.
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single hot boy who has just moved into a new school must be in want of a new girlfriend.
This sweeping generalization has been reached upon without any discourse with the said boy, mind you. Meet Nishita, the tenth standard self-proclaimed matron of me, Aakriti Rajbhandari and my best friends Sachina and Ehana, who are all in the eighth. Sometimes, I wonder if the sole purpose of her life is to see us dating pretty boys.
