It would call for a glorified version of the Games to make the fresh the memory of those killed by the districts' rebellion. Now we honor our fourth Quarter Quell. On the one hundredth anniversary, as a reminder to the rebels that the Dark Days only served to tear their families apart, each district will be required to send two sets of siblings. The new government that came with the rebellion Katniss started has been overthrown. President Snow's granddaughter is ruling Panem now, and she has proven to be more ruthless than he ever was. Katniss and Peeta were publicly executed after the Capitol took over again, and District 13 was completely obliterated. Since then, the Hunger Games have been harsher than ever. In a world where there was never a second revolution. Where Katniss Everdeen was never the image of a revolution, but simply just a winner of the 74th Hunger Games and nothing more. Hyacinth Indigo thought it would just be another reaping. After being reaped at the age of 16 in the 100th Hunger Games to represent district 12, she must fight for a chance to come out on top and make it out as the victor of that year's Hunger Games. With a naive woman as her escort, a drunk and an optimist as her mentors, and a mysterious boy as a partner, things don't prove themselves to be easy, but with nothing to lose she would do whatever it's necessary to survive. After the rebellion, the Capitol rose, overthrowing the 13 districts of Panem. The Treaty of Treason is revised, creating a more interesting Games. This time, all the 13 districts must participate proving the survival of the fittest. After 100 years of the Hunger Games, the fourth Quarter Quell is introduced. On its 100th anniversary, the citizens of Panem wonder what is in store for the tributes. Obviously, something more gruesome and horrifying, as the President would describe, "The greatest Hunger Games of all!" Prepare as 26 teens battle it out in one arena... Let the 4th Quarter Quells begin!

Since the rebellion, Panem has expanded to seventeen districts, and now also reaps from it's own capitol. You can follow each tribute's story and vote for who you wish to live. Krystal Hayden, treated as an outcast in this rich school she doesn't even want to stay in, aren't like any other girl. She isn't spoiled with money and can't meet any celebrity she wants anytime. Her love for music, the reason she entered East Creket High is her all and she hides the fact that she writes songs all the time, believing that they will never be heard of. It all changes when she enters the high school section and you have to live in dorms. Not to mention that her brother writes his information instead and she enter high school as him! But there's a third identity when she finally gets discovered of her music! Can she keep it up?

This story is what might have happened if Katniss failed the rebellion and the games continue, the conditions of the games become harsher to show people that they shall not ever attempt a rebellion again. This book follows the point of view of Diamond, the District 1 Tribute who is reaped for the 100th Hunger Games. This particular quarter quell caught the attention of many due to its astonishing condition, Diamond has been training since the age of 8 to use a weapon and prepare for if he ever gets chosen. Though every one sees him as a spoiled conceited brat due to his mother being wealthy and does what ever she can to make sure Diamond is happy, he is quite opposite. Diamond is a Kind, Gentle and fragile person who is also anti-social which make him come off as conceited. Diamond struggles to find a place to fit in but is to shy to confront anyone, plus the pressure of having to team up with the careers does not help him very much.
