In the Season two premire of Chakram Reborn, Mark takes a bullet for Gabrielle when Meteo fires his gun at her. While being operated on, Mark goes on a spiritial journey where he meets Celista, Goddess of Death. She tells him that it's his time to trancend to the spirit world, but Mark pitches a fit. He calls on Aphrodite to help him and she tells Celista to take him to The Fates, so he can plead his case while she goes to Archangel Micheal for help. Down on Earth, Gabrielle rages as she feels she's to blame for what happened to her father. Xena trys to calm her, but Gabrielle's anger is shown in her eyes. Meanwhile in heaven, Micheal explains to Aphrodite that because Mark choose to take that bullet, he sacrificed himself for Gabrielle, who was suppose to be killed. Micheal and Aphrodite explain to a heartbroken Mark, that in order for Gabrielle to live, he must die.

Just a fluff piece detailing what it was like for Xena and Gabrielle just starting out in their travels together with all the changes they were having to get used to suddenly being a duo on the road. Arguments are bound to happen, and issues will arise. How do they resolve them? Set between the first few episodes of the show, when they were just getting used to each other's company. No explicit lesbian material as I believe to begin with, they really were just friends. Albeit, friends with so much more potentially between them than the average friendship would be. It is also entirely from Gabrielle's point of view... Enjoy!
