His bond with Valentine broke when he went too far trying to track Valentine down after the Uprising. Jace won't be raised by Valentine in this story, because Cèline stayed at Herondale Manor during the Uprising, where Valentine couldn't reach her. Clary will be raised with full knowledge of who and what she is, with all the training required, but she won't actively be part of the Shadow World until her eighteenth birthday.
