Under the Bridge & Other Absurdities- a short-winded, knee-popping jog through the ridiculousness of adulthood, from the loss of loved ones, hair-pulling traffic jams, unemployment, unplugging, grisly gun violence, homelessness and the evaporating tonic of youth, featuring "Under the Bridge" in the May 85th issue of Drunk Monkeys & "Bourbon Bumblebees" in the Autumn 2023 issue of New Note Poetry, as well as social media favorites such as "Dad," "Traffic," & "More Guns, Please."

A book containing poetry, stories, thoughts, and song lyrics I write. I create these writings when I have things on my mind that I cannot express clearly. Using metaphorical and symbolic expression I tell a story that touches my soul deeply.

Skye Roberts, a naive 20-year-old she-wolf, has led a sheltered life, dedicating herself to her studies in pursuit of becoming a healer. Her world is turned upside down when a rogue attack overwhelms her pack and her mother's capabilities as the sole medical provider on-site. Skye rushes to the clinic to assist, only to discover that Bane Brooks, a notorious playboy and pack enforcer, is her true mate. Despite their bond, Bane's unwillingness to abandon his playboy lifestyle causes Skye to suffer from Cheating Mate Syndrome. This condition arises whenever a mate cheats, disrupting their biological synchronization. Each instance of infidelity inflicts severe symptoms on Skye, including vomiting, intense pain, lesions, open wounds, and potentially death unless immediately treated surgically. The symptoms persist for the duration of the intimate encounter. When Skye's condition becomes critical and it's revealed she is pregnant, she is airlifted to a major hospital for life-saving treatment. Ultimately, Bane's selfishness leads him to abandon her at the hospital after overhearing nurses discuss the loss of their pup. This traumatic event leaves Skye deeply scarred, both physically and emotionally. Following a painful recovery, Skye dedicates herself and becomes a renowned surgeon specializing in the care of CMS and advocates against such abuses. She helps others heal from similar traumas and navigates the emotional and physical aftermath of betrayal. Having searched for Skye for years, Bane discovers her when hospitalized at her hospital. He is horrified to learn that he not only abandoned Skye, but their pup that had actually survived. Confronted with the repercussions of his past actions, Bane must face the reality of their child's existence and his own regrets. Skye, now a figure of strength and resilience, faces the daunting challenge of deciding whether she can actually trust any male ever again.
