The year is 2001 of September, New York has been struck by 2 planes, the Pentagon was struck too. The Capitol was also nearly hit too, but it missed but still did a good damage to the National Mall which is around 0.5 to 1.5 miles from the Capitol. The world is devastated, Al-Qaeda and Bin Laden were part of this. We know this as 9/11. At the Atlantic, 4 Oliver Hazard Perry frigates, 2 Ticonderoga cruisers and 4 Arleigh Burke destroyers (Flight I and II) have been re-routed back to the US to protect from any type of hijacking, but they never made it back. NCIS, the Department of Defense, Secretary of Defense, Secretary of the Navy and SAR Aircraft and ships searched for them but they haven't been found. Meanwhile, the world of Azur Lane will get new visitors from the present.
