Elizabeth Morgan is a licensed mortician. Her job is to preserve the deceased and make them presentable. Lately she's been experiencing strange encounters at the morgue. Doors flying open, knocks at the body freezer and the occasional singing in the long stretch of the poorly lit hallways. Is it spirits or something else?

It's not the dead that bother mortuary photographer Toby Shaw. It's the living who are determined to make his life hell. But he better be quick, because the bodies are starting to mount up - bodies with their eyes and heart ripped outcut out and their hearts missing.  Submitting to agents at the moment so only a preview of the first few chapters is up.

Moving is a hassle, especially when it's a cliché old house with an abundance of dark rooms to keep track of. Had pretty bad writers block, but anyways, happy October!

It was a threshold between the living and the dead, where every corpse held a story and every shadow concealed a secret. Lyra was about to discover that the dead don't always rest-and some secrets are buried for a reason.
