I wasn't expecting him to look at me.
Not that day.Not when we hadn't said a single word to each other, not even once.
We were just two names on a roster. Two shadows in the same school for months now I guess.
He, the sunshine boy with effortless smile.
Me, the girl with a chaotic mind.
And yet, here we were.
The last exam had ended.
Three hours of silence, scribbled answers, and a million unspoken thoughts sat heavy in the air as I packed my things. The hall buzzed with noise - chairs scraping, pens dropping, friends laughing. People walked out one by one, like it was just another day.
But not for me.
And even though he didn't know, I couldn't stop my eyes from searching for him.
I stepped outside into the corridor, unsure if he had already left. My eyes scanned automatically -
and then they stopped.
He was there.
And he was looking right at me.
Not past me.
Not at someone beside me.
At me.
For five seconds, maybe more.
No smile. No words. Just that look - steady, unreadable, quiet.
I didn't look away this time.
I let him look.
Because it was all I'd get.
And then... he turned.
Walked away.
And just like that, the boy I had fallen for - the boy who never knew how much space he took in my little world .
I didn't have his number
I didn't know his Instagram I'd
All I had was the memory of that stare,
and his name...
just his name.
