Notebook Three covers the year between the books, the one Lacy later called the building year. Notebook Four covers sophomore year - October through December. They are presented here without correction. The crossed-out lines are included. The entries that break off mid-sentence are included. The three pages from October of senior year that are just his name written in different handwriting styles, as if she were testing what it looked like, are included. She would be horrified.
