Kendall Clark is at the top of her game. She's one of the best black female Veterinarians in Los Angeles, California and everybody loves her. She's sweet, independent and very respectful. Her family raised her to love and treat everyone how she would want to be treated and she carried that value on through life. One night while at a Christmas party with her best friend Danielle, she meets Shane McCarthy. Shane is what people call "intimidating". The women want him and the men envy him. His father is one of the most powerful CEO's in the country and Shane is next in line to take the position. The only problem is that Shane's family doesn't associate with blacks or any other race for that matter; so when Shane starts to feel butterflies around Kendall will it jeopardize his position as CEO or will he drop everything to try Something Brand New?

A black, business owner of a small New York City bakery, Danielle has achieved success. She owns her own home, has traveled the world and is only 26 years old. Even with all her successes, she remains compassionate and selfless. The only thing she hasn't been quite successful in is her love life. Enter in Derek. Derek is a handsome white male also living in New York City. His beauty however, is buried under dirty brown, shoulder length hair, a full beard and clothes that haven't been washed in years. He's been homeless since he was 16. Now he's 28. After being constantly harassed by shop owners and police officer and moved from place to place, Derek finds a new place in the alleyway behind a bakery. As the New York winter begins to roll in, Danielle's compassionate persona moves her to do things most people wouldn't.

Or the fact that he would rather be at home than out at a party. Maybe the way he smiles at her as if she were something completely extraordinary. However, things are never that simple, and when all hell breaks loose while her two best friends and herself are on the other side of the world, they find themselves in trouble and unable to make it back home. When all hope is lost, Ty meets a guy named Lei who offers to help her and her friends return to the United States in exchange for a date. It seems like a harmless proposal, so Ty agrees to his offer without knowing the shit she is about to get herself into.
