Making the best of a bad situation...
After the death of her father, Beth Bishop works as a theatre set painter on in the Drury Lane Theatre to help support her and her mother. Not having the constraints of society has given her a taste of freedom that she wouldn't have otherwise, but it doesn't give her time to pursue her art and the dream of being part of the Royal Exhibition.
