"We have to live together. I am tired of this game" I said.

"Game! Do you think what's going on between us is a game, it's destiny Ray, our fate".

"I do not know. Sometimes I feel insecure and lonely. Often even in your presence I feel that you are far away from me". I felt a pang.

She smiled and looked at me intensely. "That was not your promise Ray, I promised I was going to visit anytime you miss me which I have been doing. You promised not to worry".

I kept mute and we ate slowly in silence afterwards. "Let's go" .She said. "Let's ride around". The sky had turned faint red in colour. I rode slowly feeling her warm body pressing against me. The noise of street sank down and i felt deep calmness.

We sat on a cement bench under the bridge near the walk way. The view was majestic. The gentle waves in the lake glistened in the fading sun light. Tall grass spread on both sides of the lake like a green carpet. Suddenly she lay down on the grassy ground closing her eyes and took a deep breath. The sky was clear with innumerable stars glistening.

"Hey dreamer, come to me". She said her eyes sparkling. I moved forward and lay close to her, then turned to face her. She rolled over to me and i felt her gentle kisses on my face.

"I wish to be melted into you, penetrate into you, not just a part of my body but the whole of it. I miss you Marwah". I said and sighed. She laughed looking stunned. Her laughter echoed.

"You must have been reading those hot love stories recently Ray". She said making me smile shyly. She pulled me suddenly to her and kissed hard at my lips. I returned her kiss as we hugged each other tightly. The tightness of her hug went soft as she gently pulled away from me. I tried hard to read her face in the reflection of the moon light. I felt a sharp intense pain in my chest as she started to walk away. I yelled her name, crying and telling her to come back.

"Strong men don't cry Ray, wipe those tears and know that your Marwah forever loves you".

"I am the one carrying your name behind me; we are married. how can you say we have nothing in between us? Huh" She yelled at him, tears blurred her vision, and she spoke her heart to him. "For god's sake, this marriage was to save you! Can't you get that? I did not do it willingly, I do not love you!!" He yelled back at her, shattering her heart into pieces. "Why can't you just love me?" She spoke, as she cried the tears of hurt, and pain. Her heart thumped loudly due to the shivering sensation She felt all over her body. "I never made a commitment to you, or gave you any false hope, neither did i say that i love you. Did i?" He asked her, in a very cold tone. She looked at him through her teary eyes. It's getting difficult for her to even breathe. "It was your eyes, the damn eyes. Who gave me the false hope. They say, "Eyes speak the truth," but what about mine? Couldn't you feel the sincerity within them, expressing my deep affection for you? Why didn't you see the love shining in them? Was it too complex to understand? Couldn't you notice the warmth as they gazed at you? They search for you in every corner, If only you realized how they silently echoed the emotions I couldn't articulate. They say, "Eyes never deceive." But what about yours? They played a trick on me when they met mine, painting a facade of a world that wasn't real. They made me feel loved, Leading me into a belief that crumbled, louder than your spoken promises. Why did they betray me? Was it your eyes or you that masked the truth?" The moment I was in front of him, I grabbed hold of his collar with my both hands. As I yell, "Are you cheating on me, Shahzain?" Seems like I took him by surprise, it took him a whole minute to realize what was happening right now. And the moment he did, he loosen my hold on him and pushed me, which had me stumbling back. "Even if I do, it shouldn't matter. I was forced into this marriage, Sobia." He yells back. "I didn't have a choice. But you had. You shouldn't have agreed to this marriage." Only if he knew, all my life it wasn't me who got to select the choice. Neither is this one, the most important one in my life. "I won't tolerate this. Either you leave me or leave her." I stated, anger clouding my senses. He walked towards me and took a hold of my chin in his hand and stated clearly. "And where's the fun in that? You ruined my life. I promised to ruin you till death do us a part." I pushed him hard. I had already suffered much from my so-called family. And I refused to get suffered by my husband. It's all about the limit. The moment I had my limit of misery and pain, I will end all of this. "Are you sure, it's not the other way around?" A humorless chuckle escapes my lips, as my darkest shade of eyes met his grey ones. "Also, just wanted to correct you, my dearest husband. You can't ruin what's already ruined, Shahzain." "And if I find out that you kept meeting her behind my back. I will ruin you and that lover of yours." With that I stormed out of our room, making up my mind.

"Why? When he holds your hand you don't tell him to back off, Huh?" Tightening his grip on her, Murad seethed. The pain which he was causing her was intolerable, tears fell down from those hazel orbs on her pale cheeks as she wished for a certain pair of sea blue eyes to come and save her from this tormentor. "He is my husband! He has every right on me as I have on him." Hazaan yelled at him as anger started welling up in her body, slowly replacing the fear. "Oh, Accha. Now, he is your husband then who am I to you? Did you forget what we had.." the words got strangled in his throat and a loud noise took place in the room making a pin drop silence which shocked the daylights of Murad as he never expected the timid, extrovert and bubbly girl to strike him hard, across the face. "You were a mistake and you'll always be one! I was so blind in your trap which you called 'love' to not see a cold blooded brute." Hazaan gritted out the words not knowing what the outcome of her honesty would cost her. Fury and rage was all he felt towards her. He jerked off his grip on her and pushed Hazaan to the wall harshly, making her yelp as her head started throbbing in pain. Murad wrapped his fingers on her throat and pressed his fingers more firmly which caused her to squirm in his hold for the oxygen. His next words were not for which Hazaan was prepared for. "You are mine Hazaan! YOU.ARE.MINE. If I can't have you then no one can..." were the last words heard by her before everything went black.

A Spinoff From the Grace Series I skim my fingers along my woman's arm as she reclines back, seated in my lap with her back resting against the cushioned arm of the wooden bench we worked on together. I built it and she painted it. And each one of our kids put their handprints on it. My darling sewed cushions to tie on during the warm days so we can sit out here comfortably. Now we enjoy the fruits of our labor together. And I'm speaking about the couch and our marriage. "How did we start?" she asks languidly, her eyes shut. Her coily hair frames her face in the afro she has it in. She's dolled up a bit with her dress and earrings. She's got nowhere to go, but she does it to feel perked up for the day. I'm fine with that, but she knows I'm just as fine if she's wearing one of those old nightgowns she has, or in her birthday suit. "You were always passing me by," I hold Kemi's hand and with my other one, I use my finger to trace her facial features. I love every one of them. I gently go over her brows then go to her cheeks that are a lovely rounded shape. I move onto her cheekbones, which sit a bit high. My finger trails down to her jaw and her lips as they curve up in a smile. "But to be fair, I passed you by as well, darlin'." The way we met, and the way we began, is all part of a story that is beyond us and I like to think back on it often. I like to think back on how the Lord made something new out of something broken. ~~~ This technically comes after Grace but can be read alone (and before or after Redemption). As with "Grace", this is an age-gap interracial romance about faith, love, and healing. Forewarning: This story discusses a darker theme that may not be suitable for a younger audience. Although, things are still done in a God-honoring way. Unlike Grace, this story is more of a short story and will likely contain less than 25 chapters. It follows Kemi and Fred, the close friends of Grace and Joe.
