Nicky finally took out her phone and said, "Oh, shit. I gotta go! My mom wants me home for family game time."

"I'm gonna miss you," Carol said, reaching out for Nicky's hand dramatically. "The seconds are always hours when you're not by my side."

Nicky took Carol's hand. "Fear not, my dearest. Our destinies are forever intertwined. A better love story than Twilight." 

It was tradition for them to do this sarcastic skit when they separated, just as it was tradition for me to watch the whole thing. It's always quite uncomfortable, thanks for asking. But hey! It was cute that they liked each other. I don't know if I'll ever like someone quite like that. Not that I cared. I was fine being a loner. A third wheel. Unwanted. Overlooked.
