Rick pulled the trigger, Shane hadn't a second to react, he dropped to his knees quickly. Fortunately, the bullet hit his shin. Shane gripped his leg tightly and cried out. "You son of a-" Rick pressed the barrel of his gun to his forehead. "Shut up." Shane looked up at his once best friend, unaware of the walkers quickly approaching from the woods behind them. "This is what is going to happen. You are going to take your car and leave. If I see you ever again, I'll put you out myself." Rick warned. Shane scrambled to his feet, despite the wound he wasn't about to beg Rick for forgiveness, he made his choice. Shane left the Greene farm as quickly as he could, leaving the rest to the herd of walkers that had begun to take over the farm. "Adios." He stuck his middle finger up, driving fast down the dirt road."We will meet again, old friend."

Kate Rosewood huddled in a corner of the abandoned BP gas station. She was all alone, Kate had always been frightened of the end of the world but never imagined it would happen in her lifetime. The walkers were everywhere outside, she had maybe two bullets left in her gun, a hunter knife that desperately needed to be sharpened lay at her side. "Oh god." She whispered over and over again, hoping for someone to come rescue her. How she survived this long was a mystery. The doors of the gas station flung open, Rose screamed thinking her time was up, what she didn't expect was a gun going off, someone picking her up and running to a car outside.

*The picture of fetus Louis on the book cover is supposed to be Larry's son Cole. There is not two Louis's in this story. Thank you so much to @Jake_Scott16 for the amazing book cover!* *This story will take place [roughly] within The Walking Dead's zombie-filled universe, with some differences. My fiction will not have anything to do with the story-line of the t.v. show or the comics; it will run parallel at times but Michonne, Rick, Daryl, Glenn, Carol, Maggie etc etc will not exist in my story.* **** "How did this happen? Right now my biggest concern is supposed to be if I want cheese on my hamburger or not. Not if I'm going to become a hamburger." I whispered to Chandler, he grabbed my hand and kissed the back of it "Don't worry Cole; we'll get through this, we just have to be smart". The conversation got cut off as the slowly shuffling feet finally came into view; I grabbed Fenris's and Shylo's muzzles with my hands to keep from them from barking or growling and giving away out hiding spot. Chandler nudged me with a slim Jim meat-stick in his hand "Four legs are faster than two" he whispered in my ear. Sighing to myself and kissing both my dogs on the nose, Chandler threw and meat stick away from us "Fetch" I whispered and the dogs crawled out to get the tasty treat. As they drew the walkers away from us, Chandler and I scrambled out from under the car and ran in the opposite in the opposite direction. Chandler pulled out his knife and dug it into the skull of the stray walker that was in front of us, as he did so I could hear my dogs start to snarl and growl at the walkers that were closing in on them. Sticking my fingers in my mouth and letting out a high pitched whistle, my dogs weaved between the walkers and avoided outstretched hands as they joined Chandler and I as we fled into the hills.

Everyone shivered on their knees. Simon walked back and forth as he stared at us, nodding his head and smiling as if approving his shiny new friends. "Alright! Let's meet the man himself!" He smiles with excitement in his eyes. He walks over to the R.V. door and knocks on it twice. He steps to the side and awaits for Negan to step out. Everyone around waited with anticipation for Negan to come out. For the life of me, I couldn't figure out how I knew that name. Even if there were a gun to the back of my head, I still wouldn't remember it... The R.V. door opens and out comes a tall, slim man wearing a leather jacket with a wooden bat wrapped in barbed wire resting on his shoulder. Negan shows a smile and that's when it hits me. My eyes widen. The oxygen in my lungs freezes. My heart pounds against my chest. I know him. It's Negan... When Kate wakes up from a head injury, unable to remember the previous hours, she travels on foot from Virginia to Georgia, meeting new people. Later down the line, she comes across a familiar face. Will she fight for the ones she grew to call family, or will she find herself fighting against them to kill the man she slowly found herself falling for... **This will begin in the early story of Negan, 'Here's Negan', which my character meets Negan just before he turns to the badass man he is. It will soon jump to season 6 where everyone meets Jesus and Hilltop, then meet Negan officially. There's a twist- Kate doesn't remember who Negan is** **SMALL TALKS OF DRUG USE! Regardless of what others may think, you continue to pursue him. However, when the group encounters various challenges that test loyalty, trust and courage, you wonder if it's actually meant to be. ... "Carl," he stops and looks at you. "Get away from her." "Why?" Carl simply asks. "Come here," Rick tells him. Carl looks over at you, then Rick. He shakes his head no. "I didn't ask you, I'm telling you." Rick grits his teeth. Carl reluctantly obeys. You watch him as he leaves eyes never loosing contact with his. Rick shuts the door cautiously. As soon as you hear it shut, you stroll over to the door and press your ear against the thin wood. You could hear Rick's faint voice. "Carl. Keep watch over her," he whispers. "She's dangerous." "What do you mean? She's a kid. Just like me. What makes her any different?" Carl defends you. Your heart begins to thud. He's protecting you. Just like what any and every body guard should do. ... SHE LEARNED TO LICK THE KNIVES DIPPED IN POISON. Nothing was ever given to Rebekah Dixon on a damn silver platter. Everything that made up her core being was embedded in survival. Nobody was coming to save her like a damned princess locked in an ivory tower. Her life was in shambles the minute she was born to an alcoholic, abusive father. One brother half in and out of her life like clockwork every few weeks, juvie, jail, and the other brother who tried his damned best to shield her. Even if it was futile. He just kept coming and coming. Until he didn't. GLENN RHEE was just a pizza delivery boy swarming in debt, barely making ends meet when the rise of the dead began. Pizzas. A different kind of survival was embedded in who he was the moment he left the safe haven of Michigan and ventured to Macon. He knew the ins and outs of the city better than the mayor himself, probably, and that was the sole reason he survived the initial onslaught of the dead. His family was surely dead. All gone, wiped off the face of the earth as far as Glenn knew. When he met Rebekah, all Glenn could think was that maybe the end of the world wasn't so bad if he could look at her. She was hardened, not much of a talker. Not like he was, and yet.. He could not stop trying to get the girl to smile. The two unlikely survivors find solace in each other.. eventually.
