    After being whisked away by Garreth, a reaper who claims to have her best interests at heart--even though he seems to act otherwise, she meets Lucian. With the latter being a handsome young heir to the lordship of her home realm creates its own problems. Like the vendetta Astra's mother has against his family.
     
    As she waits for her Blood Reading on her 18th birthday, she feels pulled in so many directions, torn between kingdoms, and realms, the love of an heir, and the safety of the rogue reaper.  She doesn't even get to choose her future since it will be told to her at her blood reading but that doesn't change what she wishes for in her heart.
     
    Can the desires in her heart change the outcome of her reading so that her future will be the one she wants and not the one she fears she is destined for?
