Pollyanna Grows Up is a 1915 children's novel by Eleanor H. Porter. It is the first of many sequels to Porter's best-selling Pollyanna (1913), but is the only one written by Porter herself; the numerous later additions to the Pollyanna franchise were the work of other authors.

20 parts Complete

Haley Parker wanted nothing to do with guys - at least none of the guys her parents were always trying to set her up with. She was tired of the whole charade - the countless schemes, moving all the time, saying goodbye to friends and life as she and her brother Dustin knew it - everything. It's no wonder she's not expecting much as she's moving yet again to a new place in Boston. However, turning 18 and independent in under a year, Haley's parents are running out of time to get her engaged (more like betrothed) to a guy of their approval. Not ready to give up yet, they hatch a plan to get her married to the seemingly perfect James Kacey who lives a few houses down. Meanwhile, Haley is only making enemies for her hit list at her new high school - Griffin Johnson, typical arrogant bad boy who wanted the whole school to love him, easily scoring #1 on that list. But as much as these two claimed to hate each other, would they be able to put aside their differences and actually become friends? More importantly, will Griffin be able to save Haley from her most unwilling betrothal to James? A short story. [Editing. I eventually plan to publish a more fleshed out version of this story, along with fixing a few mistakes I made.]
