For thousands of years, we have been living in a society where women have been killed for honour, they have been raped, they have been burned with acid and they have been imprisoned.

This book is a collection of articles on woman imprisonment, where I am trying to raise a question.

Are we really trying to change the society and giving women their right to love freely, breath freely, and dream freely, as we claim?

Black is beautiful. Black triumphs till beyond eternity. Black is the most inscrutably tantalizing fabric of existence. God bless Black. Parekh brings to the fore various evils lingering in the society and tries to cure them offering the balm of poetry. The poems contained within are starkly explicit and poignantly debate on various global social causes like female foeticide, blindness, smoking, molestation, adopting the girl child, hiv-aids discrimination.etc. In a battle of adroit analogies the poet emphatically portrays even the tiniest of social evil and urges mankind to rise above the same. Poetically he tries to unite hearts all across the Universe in the spirit of love, oneness and compassion to give birth to a renaissance against evil and unjustness. This victorious concoction of poems would appeal to all those who've so selflessly fought for a social cause and to uproot evil forever from the fabric of society.

She cried herself to sleep all night after that horrible night. You should have seen her. You know, you made me realise why she never told anyone. Why she never took action against it. To top it all, my sister was kidnapped and murdered. And you know what's heart breaking, she was dumped in a landfill like some trash. I still have nightmares seeing her lifeless body, with dried blood all over her face . Just imagine, an innocent girl with dreams and hopes. She always dreamt about getting a job and taking care of our parents rather than moving out. She had a very beautiful heart and a courageous soul. The way you said she committed suicide, I just wanted to rip you apart. She would never. Thinking all her dreams and wishes were completely shattered by their thirst for pleasure, breaks me. Not just her , hundreds and thousands of women and children are harassed, assaulted, molested and raped . How could people be so selfish and heartless. You know what makes it harder, the convicts are right here, right now....seeing and hearing everything that I am saying. Let them...I don't care. The guilt should eat them up. So, before talking shit about someone you really should know what you are doing. You hurt me, you know... The way you talked about my sister who went through hell, it hurt me."

Due to those stories happening in my real life, it's my own decision to change all the names of the people involved in my life, all because of the situations and details they had with me, that's kinda delicate and I prefer to protect their reputation. That's what I always think: every woman, every girl, has her right to be protected by everyone, especially men. We are sexual beings, even girls, and they have the right to express their own sexuality. Why should only men be the men only? No, women have too. So yes, you can see their names in my diary, and they are fake at all, but, what I tell from every and each one, is true and real, the persons mentioned in every story exists today and I still keep those memories in my heart and mind.
