Five hundred years ago, humanity's freedom died.

When the Greek Gods and Goddesses were usurped from their home on Mt. Olympus, they crashed upon Earth and enslaved the human race. Children spend their existence inside prisons ran by ruthless Immortals, and upon their eighteenth birthday, they are thrown into an arena to be fought after. Once won, they are scarified with their name and short-lived identity in an unforgiving world, where there is an absence of hope for people with mortality coursing through their red veins.

Servitude shackled humanity, but then a girl stood in the arena on the first summer solstice since she turned eighteen years old. A nameless girl, trembling behind the safety of her friend, landed in the Gods' worlds without knowing that she was going to be their unraveling. This wide-eyed slave, who bled two colors.

One red like humans.

One gold like the gods.

Five hundred years ago, humanity's freedom died, but she's here to take it back.

"So." She mused, sliding one black nail across her lip in a sensual caress as she stared at me with eyes the color of molten gold. "You are the one they call Huntress." Disregarding the pain in my side from the most recent beating, I straightened my shoulders and stood tall, my chin jutting out in defiance. "Yes." "Mm." Those intriguing eyes watched me from her languid position on the throne. "But, you are not just a huntress, are you?" I allowed the predatory instincts I usually worked so hard to keep hidden, to surface, feeling the burning of my eyes and shifting of bones under my skin. A slow grin slid across my face as my beast stared back at her through my human skin. The Queen didn't react to my sudden change of character, instead choosing to lean forward in interest. "How fascinating." • Once, the world was ruled by humans and technology. They were governed by a president that made choices for all. Vampires, werewolves alike hid their existence from the humans for centuries, blending in as a whole. Now, they hid no more. States are now territories governed by kings and queens, humans are regarded and used for no more than their blood and body before they are discarded and forgotten. Werewolves and vampires were at war, and it was said that the wolves had all been but snuffed out, save for one. When Adira is captured while hunting outside her homeland, she is unexpectedly sold to the Queen in the North. Wolf blood is sacred, it is said to hold inexplainable powers, and as the only wolf-borne known to humans and vampires alike, Adira fears for her life. Thrown into a world governed by everything she's been trained to hate, Adira fights for her rightful place in the world, a seat at the Queen's side. But proving her worth won't be easy, the price for failure is her life.

He said as he placed his hand on my cheek. "My bad luck." I muttered under my breath. "I warned your mother." He continued. "I told her to hide you. I informed her that if I see you again I won't hold back." He whispered. I felt my stomach do somersaults. "Why am I here?" I asked. My voice bold. "You will come to know soon." He replied back. He was way too close. "Aiden." I whispered. He was staring right into my eyes. "I am sorry." He apolozised. I looked at him confused. Suddenly, I felt something sharp cut through my stomach as pain hit my body. I felt the blood running down. "People don't live in darkness, darkness lives in them." Aizea is just another girl in the mysterious kingdom of Zaayes, where sound (rather, the sense of hearing) vanishes as soon as night falls - for everyone but Aizea. However, with this vicious secret finely hidden for years, Aizea, with her unique beauty, has caught the eye and the heart of her otherwise good friend - the handsome Andre, who has captured the hearts of almost every other girl in Zaayes; but for the one girl his shifter spirit craves for. Their friendship doesn't even get bitter despite the intrusion of these myriad of emotions; until, one fine night, the secret is spilled... Aizea has to choose between the much feared forests drenched in cold darkness which fringe their kingdom, and the wild darkness that claws its way out of the serene covers of the people that she had been holding close to her heart for all these years. What does she choose as she hears the night call her from the dark depths of the woods? ________ Highest Rankings: 5th - #ichor (16/01/2023) 2nd - #ichor (15/02/2023)
