BROKEN HOPE (Broken Redemption Book 2) by ArianaClarkAuthor

I was so damn naive it's no wonder I've ended up here. Kidnapped by the man who promised me forever, just as I'd begun to understand the depths of his betrayal. It's a sad truth I didn't marry my husband for love. I married him for the life he promised to provide, and if I'm honest with myself, I married him in hopes one day he'd fill the void Lucas-my first love-left behind. Now after so many years, they're both back. And in my desperation to feel loved, to be wanted and chosen I've walked straight into this trap. All because I forgot life's harshest lesson... I'm not enough. No matter how much or how fiercely I love, the choice will never be me. Especially now. Surrounded by danger and at the mercy of my husband's enemies, I'm forced to face one final bit of truth. Much like love, hope is for the weak. I was a fool to believe in the vows and promises they made.

I want to console her and badly wanted to hug her, but I can't, I can't after what I had done 3 years ago. I am the sole reason she is in this stage. My heart pangs seeing her like this. I wish I had a time machine so that I could go back and reverse everything that I had done and the things that happened that day. I kneeled in front of her, tears were flowing unknowingly from my eyes. " How can someone abandon their love, Tridha! " I whispered, but deep down, I know I was the one who abandoned his love, his heartbeat from himself. I was the stupid one, but now I will rectify all my mistakes and win her back no matter what it costs me, but I WILL. I wish I didn't take advantage of her love I wish I didn't love him. I wish I took better care of her I wish I turned my back on him the moment he hit me I wish I treated her better. I wish I pushed him off when he came to me I wish I could've held my love for him I wish I didn't walk down that aisle I wish I could have fought back for myself. I was fighting a losing battle, All for us. But it was too late for those numerous "I wish" Everything is irrevocable. No pauses. No rewinds. No take backs.

Yes, many are written in rhyming verse. Yet not all are like this, I wouldn't leave you that curse. Some poems are quite lighthearted and others very somber.
