"I was told, told never to contact you, but... I don't fink I've any other options." the voice in the voicemail was frantic, and that of a young girl, maybe four or five. She had a thick Irish accent. It took me off guard.
"The mission 'as been compromised. They know, they know everything. I tried, I tried so hard to keep them out, but someone in our organization leaked confidential information, along wif photo evidence of the bodies. The Circle 'as a traitor, and they need to be punished. [crash] Oh, bloody hell, they're here! They're coming for me! I 'ave to go, but Delta, remember these words: The penny dropped out of the car into the ballpark."
And with that, the voicemail was over.

Two girls, chasing their dreams, find themselves caught in a web of secrets tied to a forbidden past. But as their bond is tested by time, love, and betrayal, the unshakable friendship they once shared begins to crumble. "I love you! Because of you, I laughed a little harder, cried a little less, and smiled a little more." "I love you too! I just want you-your flaws, mistakes, smiles, and everything about you." But the love that once brought them together begins to fade. "You're not the same Bella. You're not the Bella I loved." "That's nonsense! I'm the same Bella you always loved! What's gotten into you?" "I know my Bella. I could recognize her by the freckle on her skin. But you're not her." Heartbreak sets in: "Don't you love me anymore?" she asks, as tears streak her face. But trust has been shattered. Tempers flare, and dark truths emerge: "Say it once again?" "I HATE YOU, LILY! I hate every single damn action you take! You think you're a leader? You're just a loser. All this mess is because of you! Why didn't you die that night instead of them?" As the tension escalates, a new conflict arises: "Harry just asked me out for the college prom," Lily says. "Then say no. It's simple," Bella snaps. "What's wrong with you, Bella? I like him, and I'm saying yes!" "There you go again, deciding things by yourself. Just like that night when you acted on your own and called a cursed child." With love on one side and loyalty on the other, Lily must navigate heartbreak, misunderstandings, and regret. Meanwhile, the mystery of their shared past looms larger, threatening to unravel everything. Can their friendship survive the trials of love, loss, and betrayal? Will the truth set them free-or destroy them completely?

The cold breeze in my face, clinging tightly to my bare arms. My arms wrapped around my torso in an attempt to keep me warm. Tears streaming down my face as memories of Harry's cruel betrayal flood my mind. Of all days, he chose my birthday to hurt me. My red pumps creating a gentle click sound with every contact is made with the tarred road. Creating the only sound the night breeze brings to my ears. Asides from my sobs and the distant barks of the neighborhood dogs. My third sense is suddenly activated as I sense I'm being followed. I smell danger. Walking alone on such desolate streets doesn't seem like the best idea I could have come up with. I wasn't thinking straight when I made that choice. I should have called my driver to come to get me!. This creepy feeling becomes more intense and I decide to do the one thing I know I'm good at; run! I throw my purse and phone away as I begin to run in a frenzy I feel something hot on my trail, when I look back, all I see is dark fog. The more reason to run faster. The road fairly lit by moonlight, my heart in my mouth and prayers of help and mercy escaping my lips. Finally, I hear music playing from loudspeakers. I'm close to civilization!. I keep running frantically. One of my pumps is gone. Soon I see a club insight with a few people outside. I begin to scream for help when a figure suddenly appears before me. In fear, I make to run in the opposite direction but another figure is right behind me. Mount Haven

26 parts Complete Mature

Prologue: The Letter That day went like any other. I parked my mom's old Ford Escape in the driveway. I had just gotten off work, and it was my last day. Before I walked into the house, I grabbed the mail. A cool breeze whipped past me. I began to look through the mail, like routine and headed inside. There was a cream-colored envelope with big blocky letters saying "Arielle Lancaster." Which would be acceptable only if it wasn't from a place I've never heard of before. "Mount Haven"... might be a scam. Right? The lettering looks like something from the government. Curiosity washed over me, and I opened it. I walked inside to see my parents were gone. I shrugged it off and headed to my room. My eyes began to skim the letter. "To the next of kin of Leah Fletcher," The letter began. Who is that? My eyes jumped to the next thing to catch my eye. "You now fully own 1582 Everest Drive, Mount Haven, Maine. You will need to come and take care of this property." My eyes then jumped to the bottom of the letter. "If you have any questions, please contact me at 723-356-7891." I grabbed my phone. My body began to shake. "Hello?"I asked.
