THE SHADERS

One night, you heard a crash in the other room. You crept out of bed to investigate, but after screams followed, you realized They had finally come. They were always coming and there was no escape, but sometimes you could hide just long enough to think you were safe.

After the screams cut off, you ran. Panting and trying not to trip, you finally reached the front door. You reached for the handle when They pulled you back. You struggled and shouted as They scratched and bit you. You kicked one in the chest and It staggered back, knocking over a vase. The water spread over the floor with the shreds of pale pink petals floating on top.

You scream for help as another one rips your hair out of your scalp. Please. Help me. You think as you are whacked in the back of the head and fall into darkness.

The next morning, the house is Empty. Nobody lives in it anymore and all of the furniture is gone. The room you died in looks like somebody just packed up and moved out from. No one is going to look for you because they all know what happened.

They got you.
The same way that They get everyone.

WORK IN PROGRESS‼️ ─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ── There was no noise; I was at peace, and ironically, the stone-cold pavement never seemed warmer as my blood oozed out of me and around me like a painted canvas. I was slowly losing consciousness, but my mind never seemed happier now that I was dying. The white walls with big bright lights did not resemble heaven; in fact, it was quite the opposite. I thought I had died. When I came to, I found myself in this strange place, disoriented and confused. I looked around and found another five pairs of eyes looking at me with the same emotion swirling in their gaze. Now, 15 years later, I train with these girls. Our makers take care of us, feed us, and make sure we are clean, healthy, and fit. Some of us never had that; that's probably why it took so long for us to realize we were being used. The dirty work they made us do, none of us questioned it. How could we when we were taken off the streets? For a chance at normalcy, we settled for anything, even if that meant blurring the lines of right and wrong. After a mission gone haywire, we started noticing, and now we strike back to take our voices and reclaim the power that was used on us as a way to control us. After all, they are the ones who trained us; we are just returning our long-overdue favour. ─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ── Rankings : Featured in Mystery-thriller #5 in Mystery-thriller on 7/12/24

After three epidemics, fifteen wars and plenty of government disagreements, the world stopped numbering their years. The last recorded one was 2104. During that year, all hell broke loose. The continents started merging together, forming one giant landmass like they did when the dinosaurs were roaming around. All the countries disappeared and were replaced by sectors: Arctic, Ocean, Jungle, Desert, City, Cavern, Sky and Forest. In the very centre of the landmass, there is a small portion of land that is not claimed by any sector. That piece of land is home to one thing and one thing only. The Hollow. The Hollow is a small cottage, white-washed and red-roofed. It used to house criminals and now is occupied except for beasts that are caged in the Grotto, which is the name people have given to the basement of The Hollow. Now, since The Hollow is useless unless you need somewhere to store mythical legends, children are sent there on the seventeenth of each month to face tests to check if they are fit for living in this world. No child has ever lasted more than a few days. Until now. Eric Alastor is a thief who has no friends or family by the age of seventeen. Elisaveta Nebula is a girl who carries around knives to protect herself from the criminals crawling around her sector. Together, they will face The Hollow. Daring to walk alongside death every day, they develop a strong connection. Maybe it's just from the circumstances. Or could it have something to do with Eric's troubled past... Will they face their challenges with a smile on their face? Live to tell their story?

Book 4 of The Alpha Series! Cannot be read as a standalone book! Highest rank: #1 in Werewolf genre on 06/11/2019! Amelia Reid and Ivan Romanov were once childhood friends that would see each other every summer. But that all changes when Ivan stops visiting. A few years later, they meet again. But this time, they don't see each other as friends. Join Amelia's journey as she tries to peel back the many layers of Ivan Romanov while finding her place in a completely different world. *** "They show what you've been through, and I think that's beautiful." I whisper back, running my fingers through his hair. "Hell, you're ten times stronger than I could ever be." In an instant, he turns around to lay on his back with me straddling his waist. I blush at the position, his hand caressing my heated cheek adoringly. His emerald gems hold an array of emotions, flickering across too quickly for me to catch and decipher. So, I choose to admire him instead. I meant what I said. Ivan is so breathtakingly handsome that it hurts sometimes. His midnight black hair is always tousled sexily, eyes bright and alert, there's two freckles by his right brow and one by his chin. His lips are full and most of the time they're either in a frown or a straight line, but I manage to catch several small smiles throughout the day. He's quite muscular but whenever he holds me I feel safe and protected, as if I'm in a soft cocoon. "You don't need to be strong." His low murmur snaps me out of my trance. "You have me, I'll always protect you." "You protect me from the world and I'll protect you from yourself, deal?" I smile softly when he laughs, nodding in agreement. I felt the bed dip as he sat down on the other side but I focused solely on my task until I was done. "This is a pillow barrier. Meaning, you don't breach this side of the pillows." I instructed, my voice firm. "What if I don't want anything between us?" Phoenix said in a husky voice, and I risked a glance. Bad choice. His eyes were dark and his gaze was on my lips, to my chest, then back to my lips. "Eyes up here, buddy." I snapped the third time his eyes went down to my chest. All he did was turn off the lights. When it was dark, he whispered," Can't I admire what is mine?" I had no answer, and turned on my side. He sighed. Despite taking two naps today, I was out cold the minute my head hit my pillow. I could only hope that in the morning, the pillow barrier was still there. ***** Adira has a secret, one she would do anything to protect. I learned that day I was different. I have a gift... And I've been hunted by men intending to capture or kill me just because of what I can do. I'm Telekinetic, a mover they call me. I can move objects with just my thoughts. I can do things that most other people only dream about. Except sometimes a dream can start out exciting, and quickly become a nightmare. My name is Kyle... and this is my story. "The Hunted One " is part one of the series. Part two is called "Caitlin's Way". And part three, " Destiny " is also completed. I've also finished writing "The Presence." It's a ghost story with my kind of twist and takes place at the same time as my first two stories and If you're a Hunted One reader, you may find the ending interesting... I also have a story called "Return of the Black Eyed Children " It's based on the legend. (Look it up on Google) My latest is called "Vengeful Spirits." I'm sure the tittle describes what it's about... Please consider all my stories as a first draft. I'll be editing/polishing as time allows. Highest ranking for "The Hunted One" #45 in Paranormal on 09/29/17 And as always silent readers are always welcome. Votes and Comments are always much appreciated!
