Forty-two years after "The Promise", Fili and Kili are recruited by Thorin to join him on a quest to reclaim Erebor, the dwarves homeland. Things start out smoothly but as the peace does not last. Meeting new friends, missing but never forgotten relatives, making new enemies and meeting those the dwarves never wanted to meet again. Fili and Kili find a whole new level to their brotherhood and Thorin gets a slap in the face, literally. Its a bumpy road that's full of wonderful and nasty surprises. Will they make it to the end or will they dream crash and burn?

Bre still questions Thorin, as he does she, about Rivendell. A big piece of the puzzle just doesn't make sense yet. How can he fancy her but not trust her? And what of the other three Dwarves that fancy Bre? Bofur understands the whole situation, but do Fili and Kili? With Kili's obvious flirting, he probably doesn't care. Kili then sets his Uncle to invite Bre on the journey, and Thorin agrees. But what will become of it? All that aside, will she ever find her way back home?
