"Did you punch him in the face?"

"No!" She laughed.

"That's not the Lydia I know," Carter shook his head, staring up at the grey clouds with a reminiscent expression. "The Lydia I know punched me in the face the first time we interacted."

"We were five." She deadpanned but felt a little enthralled that he remembered.

"Yeah, so you should be able to hit harder now."

When Carter Simon is forced to find a new place to live, her only option is to rent a room from a sexy stranger. Could she be exactly what he needs? "Why are you yelling at me? You started this shit!" My voice was loud enough that I was sure the neighbors could hear. "I started this shit?" He let out an unamused laugh. His eyes raking over every inch of my body. "You're the one who decided to prance around the house with your ass out." My blood was boiling. I took a bold step toward him, my hands balled into fists. "Maybe if you took a second to talk to me, I would have known you were home and put pants on!" He stalked toward me and my reflexes kicked in. I placed an open hand to his bare chest and he shivered beneath my touch. His stare softened and instead of storming off, he took a step closer. I could feel his minty breath on my cheek as he leaned forward. "You drive me fucking crazy. You're infuriating, obnoxious, immature and a massive pain in my ass." "If I'm so awful, leave me alone! It'll be like I'm not even here." A low chuckle left him as he closed the little space between us. My heart was beating out of my chest. "You see, I can't do that sweetheart." I swallowed the nervous lump forming in my throat. "And why is that?" "Because as much as you piss me off, I'm addicted to everything about you. Your body, your smell, your annoying ass voice. You're always talking back, and instead of hating you I've started to live for the challenge. You're intoxicating, and I just need you to shut the fuck up." I dared to step closer, closing the space between us. I could see his pulse quicken in his neck, as he tightened his jaw. "Make me."

The bet was stupid and Travis was stupid too." "So was I." He reminded her. She nodded her head in agreement. "Yeah. You were. But you've apologized so let's just move on please." "Okay, okay." He said pulling her in for a kiss. His lips were hungry on hers, needy. His tongue darted into her mouth quick without warning making her jump a bit at the intrusion. But still, the feeling of his tongue in her mouth dancing with hers made her feel dizzy. He still tasted sweet to her, it was delicious. Her hands snaked up the back of his neck, grabbing fistfuls of his hair as she pulled him closer; deepening the kiss. And then they were devouring each other, their lips growing hungrier. She looked at him and found him staring at her, his eyes glinting as if he was some kind of a predator. Her face heated up and her jaw set before swinging at him with a slap. Nathan's head snapped to the side and it seemed as if he was blinking out the spots of colours that constantly danced in front of his eyes. "Damn..." he groaned. "That's two for two."
