When the red string of fate malfunctioned, Dara ended up being physically tied to the most stoic person in the planet.

The string does not stretch and it is only visible to the two of them. The lunar matchmaker god has no recollection of tying them together, and the deities do not have a clue on what to do. How will they go about their daily lives if they are tied to each other?

Are they really destined to be together? Or are they destined to be apart?

"The two people connected by the red thread are destined lovers, regardless of time, place, or circumstances. This magical cord may stretch or tangle, but never break." - old Chinese belief

Sandara or Dara is nearing her 30th year. She's the stereotypical never been kissed, no boyfriend since birth, himono-onna. She's brilliant at work. Her boss loves her and her workmates adore her. She's socially inept, preferring quiet café moments with close friends over parties. She has a beautiful face that she hides behind a pair of unfashionable, prescription glasses. When she's not working, she wears either ratty sweats or faded scrubs everywhere. She gives inappropriately sarcastic but on point running commentaries on tear jerker romantic scenes on tv and in the movies. Just when you're about to spazz out, she'll make sarcastic comments about the plot or the characters. She's very vocal about her opinions on "real-life" romantic relationships and has sworn off romance altogether Though she has one weakness. She lives and breathes for kdramas. She doesn't believe in real world romance because koreanovelas ruined it for her. She would rather watch kdramas than deal with stupid men whose maturity stopped growing after high school. Kwon Jiyong or GD is her best friend and flatmate for more than a decade. He's your stereotypical ladies man. He's not too tall but his lean, athletic body makes him seem taller than he is. He's smart, dresses fashionably and oozes charisma. He excels in seduction but sucks superlatively at relationships. Girls go in and out of his life in rapid succession. He still says he believes in love. He swears that once he finds love he won't waste any time and will marry the woman if she'll have him. There was a time when Dara fancied herself in love with GD but seeing his track record she'd rather keep her heart safe. So she made a promise to herself she won't ever fall in love with GD again. There was a time when GD fancied himself in love with Dara but seeing her scoff at real life romance all the time he'd rather keep the friendship than gamble with love. So he made a promise to himself he won't ever fall in love with Dara again.

Jiyong being a mafia boss was never a problem for Dara; she accepted him as it is. She was happy with him beside her. Even when he would shut himself away from her and ignore her attempts to get close to him. it was hard but she never complain, she saw him in his worst days and was with him in his weakest time; maybe that was the cause of her being silent and adjusting to his mood swings. She knew his habits of making decisions on his own or acting dominant over things but when he decided to break up with her out of blue and especially when she needed him most did the thing; she was beyond pissed off. No reason, no explanation, and not even final good-bye. That's when she decided she is not going to see his face again, ever. Not wanting to waste her time pitying over herself she decided to find a job and be independent. Working for a club as a waitress was never her dream job but she kind of grew a liking for it and that she could earn enough for herself. But she never has guessed that just when she was getting a grip of her life and was ready to move on, she was gonna end up in the same situation she faced a year ago. -- Jiyong was like a walking zombie, barely functioning as a human. When Dara left without notice, not leaving a single trace, he felt like he lost a part of him. it was his own decision but there wasn't a day when he regretted it with his life. He has to get her back, no matter how far he has to go. And when he was out of town to handle a business, he never in his life thought he would meet her there; at a club, out of all the places. Wearing a fuc**ng skimpy uniform, in the arms of another man.

[ The modern-day Bonnie and Clyde ] . . . . Legend has it that there's an intangible red string that binds two souls destined to be together. No matter the time, place, or circumstance, nothing can break the invisible thread between those two people who are meant to be together. That's what it was like between her and I-an instant connection, like we'd always been together. .. .. She and I, both from traumatized families, found comfort in one another. The girl with the letterman jacket and charismatic smile. And me, her bohemian princess. The invisible string pulling us to one another despite the danger our love created. The town whispered about us. Our parents threatened us to stay away from one another. They tried to cut the string and keep us apart. We simply tied it in chaotic knots, with no hope for ever separating them. .. .. Will our unbreakable bond uphold the chaos fate brought us, or will our love bleed into a pool of crimson?
