Sweet Dreams: A Modern Fairytale by bluepuzzlepiece

This is inspired by a writing project I supervised when I worked with an elementary student. This writing project was a group project to make their own spin on a fairy tale assigned to the group. It had to have all the main points of their fairy tale, start and and with the common phrases of a fairy tale, and it had to have their own creative spin. My student did Cinderella, and it was so fun to work with him and his group, I wanted to make my own. Our dear Cinderella loves to bake, but she's not exactly looking for love when an opportunity to make a name for herself comes up. As for Prince Charming, he is looking for love, just not in the usual fairy tale fashion. And as usual, there's some extra mischief from the step family, royal family, and fairy godmother. Heaven only knows what's going to happen, right?

It all started with a ball. You're 18 he said, it's time to find a girl and get married he said. And give me grandchildren! I tried to said no, but it's not like I had a say in the matter. So there was a ball and a shoe incident. I don't want to bore you with details, it sucked and I hate dancing. I'll make the story short for you. To please my father the king, I'm traveling the countryside searching for the owner of the shoe and everyone but me seems to believe that when I find her, I'll live happily ever after... ... F**ng shoe! 👠 We all know the fairytale: Cinderella, the fairy godmother, the pumpkin, the cute animals, the ball and the happy ending. But what if the prince doesn't want a wife at all? Maybe he doesn't even want to be a prince? This Prince Charming is hopelessly in love with his best friend Adam and has no intention at all to marry whoever owns the glass shoe. Will he ever come out and tell his friend about his feelings? And what will happen when the shoe finally finds it's owner? Follow me on this crazy adventure, and we'll find out! 👠 And there's some bad language, but other then that it's a cute story. ❤️
