His brows frowned, reaching forward to hold my shaking hands, "I'm in-"

"Atticus, please," I whimpered, pushing his hands away.

"I'm in love with you, Tabitha," he whispered, catching my hands and pulling me towards his chest.

"You can't," I suddenly sobbed, as my arms wrapped around his waist.

"Yes, I can," he said calmly, resting his head upon mine.

I pulled away, and looked up at him through my lashes, "You can do so much better."

"That's impossible," he whispered, kissing my forehead lightly.
