An ex-couples rivalry for the spot as student body president becomes even more convoluted when two new, unexpected candidates enter the race. Chloe and Preston team up, each vowing to get one member kicked from the competition-- but when they both end up helping their victims to spite each other, the campaign gets a lot more complicated.

* * * * *

Chloe Peters is determined to solidify her most-popular-girl-in-school status with the label of student body president, so she's furious when three other candidates enter the race. Now, she's competing against her ex-boyfriend Preston McMillan, some nobody named Emily, and the school's notorious troublemaker, Finn Harrel. If it means saving her pride and not letting Preston get the best of her, she'd do just about anything-- even help out Finn, who despite his good looks, gets on her last nerve with his lackadaisical attitude and class-clown antics.

Preston McMillan just wants a distraction from the fact that his wrestling team is about to be disbanded. When he signs up for the presidential race, he doesn't expect Chloe to go berserk, nor does he expect to meet Emily, a quiet, stony girl he can't believe he's never noticed before. After deciding to help with her campaign, he's got plenty of distractions-- enough to make him wonder what really matters, and enough to make his friends question where his loyalties lie.

One thing's for sure: suddenly, this race is about a lot more than student government.

In which two ex-step-siblings reconnect after just about blowing up their family the first time around... Three years ago, Maddie fell hard for Jacob Isaacs, the smartest boy in her school. The only problem was this: Her dad had quite literally gotten engaged to his mother. The two tried to dampen the flames of their burgeoning attraction for each other but not before they got caught and were the talk of the town for months. After the fall out, Maddie moved away to try and start her life over and not be known as the girl who got caught doing it with her 'brother' at prom. She hasn't seen her family in ages and intends to keep things that way. Jacob, on the other hand, has worked hard to accomplish everything he's ever dreamed of. He's stayed close to home, done exceptionally well at school, and is adored by just about everyone who meets him. There's only one problem: There's a Maddie-shaped hole where his heart used to be. But no matter how hard he tries to reach out and find her, he can't. She won't let him. He let her down and gave up on them when she needed him most. And she's not ready to forgive and forget. But then Maddie's dad passes and she's forced to come home for his funeral. It should be a quick visit. She intends to make it one. But Jacob has other plans. He let his girl slip through his fingers once and he won't let that happen again. So now he has to convince her to give him one more chance. After all, they're not related to each other anymore.

Swearing Off Boys

7 parts Ongoing

Katie Becker is tired of being second choice. She's tired of her friends choosing her last, she's tired of her teachers not giving her the credit she deserves, but most of all she is tired of boys never liking her back. Upon the discovery that her most current crush is crushing on someone else, Katie is distraught. And so is her best friend Rachel. After a party where they destroy her (former) crush's car, Rachel and Kate are forced to work to pay off the damaged. Kate and Rachel make a bet, if Kate can actually swear off boys, Rachel will pay her back for the time she spends working to pay off the damages. If Kate falls into the same patter, Rachel doesn't have to pay her back. Thinking the bet will be easy, Kate hastily agrees. Unfortunately, the boy Rachel chooses for her to not fall in love with in the perfect, and rebellious, Matt Abbott. Kate soon comes to discover that you can't always control how you feel, and maybe you have to fall for someone, not just pick them and then decide to fall for them. Love isn't just something you can decide. And maybe love is so much more than what she used to think. *This is the reworked and re-edited version of this story originally uploaded in 2015. Details have been changed, so I recommend rereading if anyone (for a wonder from all those years ago) plans to keep reading.
