Rolex Ruby uncovers the tragic story of poverty; the drastic effects of unemployment and disability as well as exploring the social dynamics that 12 year old Ruby has to adapt to. Just a little background... This is only a short story which I wrote for my Extended Project Qualification for college. The qualification required me to find a subject of interest and to use my skills to either create a product or write a report. Having always loved writing, I decided to write a book. Rolex Ruby was then researched extensively before being written. Once my first draft was complete, I and my parents (Andy and Julia) edited it thoroughly so there *fingers crossed* shouldn't be any mistakes - though don't hesitate to point anything out! I painted the covers and bound the book myself. I also had to write a report and do a presentation to gain the qualification along with the 12000 word story. Koa, a 17 year old boy lived in a world full of shifters. It's his last year of high school and he is ready to be done and move on with his life. In one of his classes though, English, a conversation started on the topic of the known to be extinct dragon shifters. Even though it got dark, he remained the same and went on about his day. Many people avoided Koa due to him being intimidating. He was known for having a bad temper and getting into many fights for no absolute reason. And surprisingly, he was an omega with the looks and temper of an alpha. Excited to meet his mate, he couldn't wait for the day to end, but little did he know his life would change forever on the day he thought would be his best.
