Sometimes there are no happily ever afters, only devastating heartbreak. Does that mean we shouldn't enjoy the ride?

Adam Byrne never imagined he'd be diagnosed with terminal cancer at the age of thirty-five, but that doesn't mean he's about to give up on life. Fresh out of college and braving the adult world for the first time, Zoe Shepard is a new nurse in the pediatric ward where Adam is getting his treatments.

He's rough around the edges with a wild streak. She's strait-laced and far too compassionate for her own good. They're so different from each other, and yet they make each other feel so good.

They've got all of the odds stacked against them. He isn't meant to survive the end of the year. She shouldn't be getting attached to a hospital patient.

They're still going to fall head over heels in love.

Maya has spent five dreadful months in the psychiatric hospital recovering. One she finally is released she is forced back into her boring life. But will things really be so boring still when she meets 'bad-boy' Noah Dalton? He is annoying, rude and always around Maya for reasons she can't understand. Maya is brave, yet also afraid that her choices could lead her spiralling back into a bad place again. Will Noah be able to save her from herself? Or will he be the cause of her destruction? ---------------------------- ~Noah's pov~ 'These,' I slowly run my finger across one of her scars, 'are fucking beautiful.' Before she can object, I carry on. 'Maya you are beautiful beyond perfection. You are strong. You are brave. You are funny. You are sweet. You are incredible. Look at yourself,' I nod down towards the scars on her arm and she slowly glances down at them before meeting my gaze again, 'those scars are beautiful. Do you know why?' I ask her. She wipes a tear from her already tear-stricken face before she shakes her head. 'Because every time you decided to do that to yourself, you didn't go further, you didn't end your life. You decided to carry on living even when you thought you couldn't manage it. Those scars right there,' I gesture to them again, 'show the battles you won against yourself. They are your battle-scars and you shouldn't be ashamed of them. And you know what? I am so proud of you for making it to where you are today because you are a fighter and If I can see that, anyone can.'

It could be sunshine-y and peachy but just like that, it turns upside down and everything falls apart like an avalanche. This is exactly what happened to Alexa Gray. Alexa was the school's sunshine, everyone loved her. Until she was diagnosed with stage 4 Leukemia, and her life went down the hill. She made a promise to herself to make the last 6 weeks of her life unforgettable. So, she makes a deal with the devil- school's badboy- himself; Noah Black. But, as all stories, the Matchmaker has to interfere. A Cancer Diagnosed Girl. A Badboy. And A Bet That Changes Their Lives. ------------------- Started: 14th of May 2016 Completed: 13th of September 2016 ------------------- Cover made by the amazing @Jenikel098 ------------------- DISCLAIMER!! This novel was literally written in 4 months when I was at the age of 14 trying to overcome my obsession with the fault in our stars (yes, I used to read the book at a bare minimum of 3 times per week, if not once daily). I decided to write my own version of it and as you can see, it turned out like this. If you choose to read it and find it silly that is because it's written by a 14-year old. So, please don't write hate comments or anything. Thank you all, have a nice time reading it!
