Sixteen-year-old Marielena runs away from home to travel the ocean in search for her long-lost father who disappeared at sea. Along the way, disaster strikes when her boat gets caught in a storm and she encounters a giant sea, serpent-like creature. Her boat crashes and she ends up stranded on a remote island. 
Left injured and her boat destroyed, Marielena must survive alone on the island as the water serpent circles the island and is keen on keeping her there.
