With all of its original members gone, the glee club must struggle to survive at McKinley High School. Having taken the club by a storm the last year, Juliet Vasquez must now become a leader in order to keep the club alive. When the school is faced with even more budget cuts, Mr. Schuester pushes the kids to help recruit new members for the club. When Brittany and the gang try to convince Mr. Schuester to let them do a Britney Spears number, he is reciting to go to the edge, and Ashleigh finds herself in trouble. After learning of Emma's love of the film, Will has the glee club perform "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" for the school's annual musical. The Girls vs. Boys Tournament returns, and Ashleigh meets an ally from a rival glee club. When Ashleigh's hit over the head and stuffed in a locker for dead... will anyone find her in time? A local football championship game takes place, having the glee club girls stepping up and the "Thriller" mash-up performed during the halftime show. Ashleigh decides the only way to win regionals and beat the Warblers is to write and perform their own songs. Meanwhile, Quinn gives Ashleigh an idea for one of the songs. Principal Figgins asks the New Directions to perform at prom. Things heated up as the competition for prom king and queen drew closer and Jesse St. James returned. New Directions continues to strategise their set list for nationals with a little help from Jesse St. James. An unexpected loss rocks the world of one of McKinley's own. Ashleigh gives Jesse a piece of advice that they weren't Vocal Adrenaline. New Directions heads to New York for the nationals to compete in the ultimate singing showdown. Blaine and Ashleigh work hard on the songs... will they be good enough to win them nationals?
