"So what's next?"
"Now you have to spread the word. Let the rest of the city's newsies know about the strike."
"Ay you heard the man. Split up. Let's spread the word"
"I'll take Harlem"
"I got Midtown"
"I got Bronx"
"I'll take Bowery"
"Tommy Boy, you take the East Side. And who wants Brooklyn or Queens?"
"......"
"Aw, come on! Brooklyn and Queens! Spot and [Your name]'s turfs?"
.....
"Why is everyone so scared of Brooklyn and Queens?"
~~~~~
It was simple enough, everyone was scared of Queens because that was [Your name]'s turf. And she was most famous for making the Delanceys cry for their mommies. Yeah, if someone did so much as lay a finger on her newsies, let's just say she knew one or two ways to make a body disappear. Needless to say, no newsie was setting a foot in Queens any time soon.
But when push came to shove, someone had to tell them about the strike. And Jack made an offer the boys couldn't refuse. 3 dollars to the brave soul willing to cross the East River.
And those three dollars caused a whole other mess.
I don't own anything but the story and some of the characters.
[COMPLETED] "Shoot," Joey mumbles, letting out a string of profanities under his breath. We turn around to find a group of men, all with guns, standing where we just came from, and they look pissed... probably because they were forced to run through this tunnel after us. "Thought you could get away, didn't you?" The man who I saw before asks. His husky voice booms in the hollow tunnel, reverberating off of the dirt walls. His voice sounds familiar, and a realization strikes me. It sounds like the man from my dream. I remember him holding a gun and wearing a blue suit, smiling evilly at me. "Leave us alone," Joey says, sounding dangerous and snapping me out of my thoughts. The levity of the situation hits-we need to get out of here. I look around for a route of escape and thankfully I see a light, literally, at the end of the second tunnel. I let out a small, almost inaudible, gasp and nudge Joey. He looks at me and I subtly gesture with my head to the second tunnel. He glances at it and immediately we are on the same page. His jaw sets and he looks at the group. The man speaks up again, chuckling darkly-a sound I will never forget and will be permanently etched into my brain, "You can thank your father for starting this mess." -------------------------- Liza was a normal teenaged girl, living the average life that an eighteen year old girl should be living. She had good friends, good grades, a happy family, a loving boyfriend, and an overall content life, seemingly having everything a person could ask for. However, when she somehow gets thrown into the mix and is in the crossfires of a brutal mafia war that she has no business being a part of, things spiral out of control and she has to do whatever it takes to regain her freedom. In this hectic adventure of gun fights, torture, bank robbing and intimidating mafia men, Liza has to face it all, putting her average life on the line in order to defeat the bad guys and go back to her normal way of living.
Racetrack Higgins was a normal Manhattan Newsie- more or less. He was Gay, but so were all of his brothers. He was Jack's Second in Command and had a rough past. He was stubborn, has anxiety, and is a good bit chaotic. Spot Conlon was not a normal Newsie. He was the King of Brooklyn, the Borough feared by most. Except for Race. (And a few others.) Said Italian blonde boy was actually a half Brooklyn, half Manhattan Newsie, as he sold in Brooklyn. Sure, Spot scared him sometimes, but not a lot. They were very different. Spot had brown hair, Race had dirty blonde. Race had been to the Refuge, Spot hadn't. Spot had brown eyes, Race had bright blue eyes. Race was strong, but easily outnumbered, Spot was strong, but wasn't easily outnumbered. One think they both agreed was that they cared for their boys more than anything and would do anything to keep them safe. Oh, that and that the other was cute. Or hot, depending on if you were Spot or Race. ~~ Excerpt from the Story ~~ "Hey, Race." Ace starts, picking up his cards every time Race passes one to him. Race hums, passing a card to Sling, then himself, and then Ace. "Do you have a crush on Spot?" Ace asks, still staring at his cards. Sling hides his smile with his cards in front of his face, stifling a laugh. "No." Race answers, his face reddening slightly as he passes out another card to each boy. Ace looks up at him. "BS." He responds, smirking. Race scowls at him, pulling his hat off of his head and smacking Ace with it, all while his face turns bright red. Ace and Sling laugh. ~~ ~~ (I do not own Newsies.) Call Me Back Home
⭐️ •• "time is slowly tracing his face, but strangely he feels at home in this place." •• ⭐️ In 1894, the only thing on Elizabeth Bownett's mind was getting home. Snow covered streets were her enemy, she could barely see as the snow pelted her numb skin. Get home, was all she could think. Elizabeth had stayed out late, again, to sell the last few papers she had. It was blur, it went by fast. The cold of the snow, the way she looked at the stars like she was pleading for help. Make it stop. She walked through Manhattan. Get home. Don't tell them. Forget about it. Forget about everything that happened. No one can know. (No characters belong to me, except for Elizabeth! This is a fanfic, for some of you that requested it, based off of the Newsies! Broadway Musical) Started: August 2nd, 2016 Finished: April 3rd, 2021
