When an angry gorilla breaks out of the local zoo, he just might get his chance. The stubborn ape - called 'Donkey Kong' by frightened citizens - is terrorizing New Donk City's streets like any superhero's dream! 

But Mario's excitement at the rampaging escapade soon turns troublesome when Donkey Kong gives a taking eye to Mario's friend, the beautiful Pauline. What was meant to be a fun night out quickly becomes the girl's worst nightmare on the skyscrapers of New Donk City - in the clutches of a lovestruck ape!

Brash, bold, and ready to roll, Mario seizes the chance he's been waiting for - to fight a monster, save a damsel, and be the hero.
