In 1800s England, a well-meaning but selfish young woman will do anything to avoid matrimony to the county's finest suitors and to justly prove she doesn't need a husband to find her way in society. Even under the peril of her uncle losing his property and business to debt. In all but two months, she must prove to her family she's more than capable without a husband and can, in fact, exceed society's expectations of the female sex. But what woman can write what she hardly knows of the world, and its secrets? And most of all, how far is she willing to prove herself toward society and the Lord? At what cost for love? Maxmillian Knightley has returned from university in London, now facing the looming title of marquis. With that title comes responsibility to interact with those he despises most, and with which he must fight for his inheritance. But how far will he go in order to grow favor in the scrutiny of society and his stiff-neck father? He may be everything a woman of the ton looks for in a husband - titled, wealthy, and cheek bones that can draw in any woman - but he is in no mood to humor eligible women by participating in all things reformed. The question is: how far will he go to do everything against his own sensibility and judgment? For inheritance ... or for loyalty and love? The only common enlightenment between two entirely different sexes? A fondness for penmanship and our humorous Lord who writes the very novelty of life itself. And what happens if proving oneself leads to something quite worse? When it comes to love, making the right choices, these two are their own worst enemies. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑵𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝑷𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝑨𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝑺𝒏𝒂𝒑 They say the nicest people are the scariest when they're angry. But Hellenics? They put that saying to shame. Forged by Maelstrom, the 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐠𝐚, Hellenics were shaped as near-perfections of the Primordial Deities-beings of unparalleled might. Over the centuries, their reputation became legend. The men? Killing machines. The women? Torture artists. Some dismiss these claims as myths, arguing that divine lineage alone doesn't create monsters. Time passed. People forgot. The world moved on. Until today. What happens when someone so kind, so easygoing-someone who never lets his anger show-𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐧𝐚𝐩𝐬? Even if it doesn't last long... who knows what damage will be done? Was it trauma? A trigger? Pure, unchecked rage? 𝘖𝘳 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘴𝘦? Because there's a truth people often forget: 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒇𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇. And that's exactly what happened to 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐢. But unlike most, Demi isn't just anyone-he's a 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐜. A descendant of the 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐖𝐚𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐫. So tell me... What do you expect from the bloodline of a war god? Surprise, surprise. Even a bird has claws. And a bird, once upon a time, 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘰𝘴𝘢𝘶𝘳.

"It was a mistake..." She told her mother, folding her hands into each other. "Marrying him..." Her mother said nothing, she simply sat there as her only daughter stood across from her, on the verge of collapsing from bruised ribs and cracked shins. "Mom." She wanted to reach out, softly tap her aging mother. Though that was the restriction of her life. The binding stereotype that she was gentle and slow to anger. In reality, what wanted to explode from her ribs was a scream of an animal, and the tears of repressed rage and fear. She wanted to throw her body onto the floor, but the thought made her damaged body ache more. There was no response from her mother. The deafening silence reminded her of her own quietness as her husband shouted at her, his fists bloody. He told her that she was only a tool for his amusement and a money-whore for her indigent family. She was nothing else but a tool for both parties. And she was starting to believe him. --------------------- Sarah Johnsen's life spirals from the normal gritty resilient fight to a serene wonderland. On the outside, she's married to a kind family with untold riches, but on the inside, her husband is the devil himself. Forcefully married at 18, Sarah was forced to kill her own dreams of becoming a doctor in order to bind her poor family to the rich bastards of Glendale by marrying their youngest; Oliver Grean. Their arrangement had the ability to brew the largest timespan of misery any of them has ever known. From lost toddlers to paid staged kidnappings, the binding of the two families, the Johnsen's and the Grean's created a mixture of chaos, confusion, sorrow, fear, grief, and dangerous rage. And there seems to be no haven to escape to. Or is there? (TW: Rape, molestation, abuse, kidnapping, abandonment, swearing, murder, drug use, suicide attempts/thoughts, necrophilia, fire; READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!) !-A series of lore for the Stratford Series (first installment is "Casanova")-! Ghosts (BBC) Fanfiction "You really want to know what vexed me? Fine I'll tell you. Lord Byron was my greatest foe, if I had flesh - and this were Byron himself - I would damn well run him through! He stole my verse, my destiny and now he is to steal the woman of my dreams." This is the story of how Thomas came to be a Ghost of Button house, his hatred for Byron and his penchant for lovelorn poetry.
