Everyone, one way or another, has heard the tale of Rapunzel. A young girl trapped in a tower is eventually rescued by a prince, and they live happily ever after.

But what if that wasn't so?

What if Gothel wasn't as bad as originally thought? What if the Prince never actually rescued Rapunzel?

What if Rapunzel turned out to be the bad guy?

Years after the original tale of Rapunzel took place, the kingdom--left to the grief-stricken Queen after her husband's death--is falling apart. People live in constant fear of the many terrible towers across the land, built by her Majesty's decree to imprison any who dare question her. Bird's nothing but a girl from the north, but when someone she cares about is taken by the mad Queen's soldiers, she'll stop at nothing to save them. With nothing but her friends, a sled, and a mind full of songs, she sets out to get rid of the towers, once and for all. DISCLAIMER: this is a retelling of the *ORIGINAL FAIRY TALE* by the Brothers Grimm and has no connection to Disney's version whatsoever. DISCLAIMER PART II: I wrote this book when I was 15 and am still in the middle of huge revisions that I haven't posted here yet! PLEASE READ FIRST SO YOU DON'T SEE SPOILERS!!! This is a continuation of the Dark Fairy Tale Queens book series. Picking up after the events of 'Bad Beauty', the fairytale characters - Cinderella, Snow White, Rapunzel, and Beauty - must contend with the new threat of the Bird Witch. Based on the obscure fairytale 'Jorinda and Jorindel', this serial delves deeper into old characters, while bringing in some new ones. Naturally this contains spoilers from the book series. To start from the beginning, look up Sinful Cinderella on Wattpad. This story is being told in serialized format. What this means is that instead of chapters, I will be posting EPISODES, kind of like a TV show. Each episode will be its own self-contained story, but there will still be a forward-moving plot that connects them. Serial episodes typically run longer than book chapters - covering about 10-15 pages if it were printed. Each episode will be told from the viewpoint of one character, and that will rotate. So we'll have episodes about many characters beyond the original four. Which characters? Wait and see! Please "follow" me on Wattpad so you can part of my test audience as new episodes come out. Marinette is the title character of Rapunzel in this story but instead of being trapped in just a tower, it is an entire manor surrounded by a magical curtain to keep it hidden from view. She has been trapped there her entire life by Lila until a chance encounter with the outside world makes her want more. And she sets out to discover why she was raised by Lila(Lila is the Mother Gothel of the story). I have seen other Rapunzel stories done for Marinette where it is the version from the Disney movie Tangled but I decided to write this story from the Barbie as Rapunzel Movie. I also made Marinette the daughter of Felix and Bridgette who were the precursors to Marinette and Adrien for Ladybug and Chat Noir in Miraculous Ladybug. The original story had Bridgette as Ladybug and infatuated with Felix but they decided to scrap these two in favor of Marinette and Adrien.
