༶•┈┈ ♛ ┈┈•༶ "You really want me to shy away like I used to? Like your little mouse?" I pierce him with every word. The Darkling stares back and for a while the only thing that moves in the room are the shadows. "Alina, you misunderstand me. I have waited centuries for someone like you. Centuries, Alina, alone. I do not need to answer your question. You know what I want." Please don't say it, I think. "I want you to be my Queen, Alina." He pushes off from his chair and I shiver in my seat as he pauses by my side. The Darkling's hands find my chin and he holds my head tenderly with both hands. My power sparks at his touch like fire to kindling and I have to clench a hand in my dress skirt to keep control. He makes sure my gaze is entirely on him when he says, "And you know you will." I shake underneath the pressure of his words and he strokes my chin to calm me. Fine, but he has no idea what he is asking for. I shall be a queen, but not his. And he will regret the day he forced me back at his side like a dog. Aleksander, I think, bow. ༶•┈┈ ♛ ┈┈•༶ It starts with burst of light, like it did in the beginning. Every time a Sun Summoner dies, there is a burst of light. With every flashing death, Alina can feel a strong hum of power return to her. Fearing the loss of her new life, she sets out on a mission to the Little Palace with hopes her old friends could help her. Little does Alina know, a familiar shadow sits on the throne of Grisha. As a whirlwind of events sets her right back on square one, Alina makes a vital decision to change everything. Still, she finds herself teetering in the edge of letting the Darkling and her powers swallow her up. The Sun Summoner has grown and she can no longer be a saint. She has to be a queen. ༶•┈┈ ♛ ┈┈•༶ This is a Grisha trilogy fanfiction that takes place after Ruin and Rising. All rights belong to Leigh Bardugo. VERY SLOW BURN Darklina!

Nathalya was born and trained from an early childhood as a tidemaker. However, unfortunate events made her push down this power that she possesed, leaving her with two oppurtunities-fall ill, or get over her fear and continue summoning tides. She chose a third option: with a heart willing to bring honor to the order of the grisha and to the tradition of her family being grisha for generations, she decides to teach herself a new grisha power-one that wouldn't destroy, but mend. As her hear fear of water grows stronger, learning how to heal becomes a useful and much more goodwilling skill. Only in the spectacular events that await her she will find out that it's not just the cells of her own skin that she can cure. Refused by her former Etherealki friends, condamned by Baghra for disrespect of the Grisha nature and despised by the King, she finds favour of the Darkling who is passionately curious about her powers. The Civil war soon comes to take place, Nathalya becomes a tool of the Darkling, together with Genya, his personal healer, trying to rid him of the nichevo'ya. They both soon realise how dangerous he is and when Nathaly meets Alina, she and Genya immediately join her army to end the madness of the Black heretic once and for all. Back in the Little Palace after the war, it's hard for her to fit in. After she refuses to join Genya, David and Zoya in the truimvirate because of her unusual powers, her life among the other grisha just isn't what it used to be. Admired by the Corporalki, hated by the Summoners, unknown to the Fabrikators she tries to find a place in the Second Army, while a certain blonde-haired King seems to throw more and more admiring glances at her... Will Nikolai fall for her? Will she be able to use both of her Grisha powers in tandem? What change will the grisha in a double-couloured kefta bring to Ravka and to the long traditioned methods of grisha training?

I asked desperately. "Why? Why do you need me?" "Because without you, I have nothing!" he boomed. The truth of his words rang through my ears like a record player. He did have nothing. The Darkling could lead armies, rule over Ravka, have all the riches in the country, yet he was still alone. I struggled to find words. Then, finally I came to my senses. He deserves to be alone, I told myself. He has hurt people. Taken hundreds of lives... If that was all true, then why was there still a dagger twisting in my chest? Based on the books by Leigh Bardugo
