David Joseph Watkins was born the only son of the singular, influential, and well-known priest of the small town of Zionsville, Indiana.

All his life he hid a secret from his family, an unforgivable sin. A sin condemned not only by the people he held dear but by the society around him-forbidden by the laws of the land he lived in, forbidden by societal and familial pressures.
