Hartlyn Black never woke from the Death Curse. Instead, waking in another world, all alone. So lonely, that Death had offered her a companion. A guard. A lover.

Jon Snow was never resurrected from his fatal wounds. Instead, he was stolen away, meeting a cloaked figure then finding himself before a strange yet beautiful woman with flame-coloured hair and hypnotizing green eyes.

Hartlyn stared down at the handsome black-haired man with the darkest brown eyes she'd ever seen, curious to who he was and how he had a direwolf by his side, it having the fur that could rival the colour of freshly fallen snow, eyes akin to blood.

Jon watched her warily, not knowing who she was or where he was and amazed to see a midnight black direwolf behind her, its eyes bluer than the sky.

Raised to look down upon anything not of full elvish form, Thranduil is enraged by the audacity of the creature and her people who have plagued his borders for centuries. However many do not know that the 2 were once inseparable. Long ago the 2 elvish races lived in peace until tragedy struck. Ever since then, Thranduil has hated Arden and her people with a passion. When it comes down to the last vote, it is none other than Thranduil who holds their future in his hands. Will he take advantage of Arden in the process of deciding? Will Arden finally be able to change his mind and in the end gain something more eternal than a legacy? Neither of us uttered a word for the longest time. I step towards him with my eyes never leaving his "Do you know why I came back?" I ask softly "Why I stayed with the company even after we had escaped the goblin hoard, after the Pale Orc nearly killed us, and even after you became a cold and cruel King?" Thorin turns away from me filled with arrogance and his pride not wanting to meet my gaze. I turn his cheek to face me. Just above a whisper I say "Because I believed in you." #FanfictionAwards2018
